I have Philly/Lakers Finals futures so I'm happy to back 76ers in this spot. Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Toronto (who can forget that Kawhi rim shot), Boston, Boston (2012), Miami, Orlando, Detroit, Detroit, Detroit those are the teams that have kept Philly from getting out of the semis last 22 seasons. Yes folks, the large market 76ers have not made a Eastern Conf Finals since 2001 (where they coincidentally won and faced Lakers in the Finals).
The NBA has a way of rewarding teams in certain situations. Bucks built a new $1billion arena few years later Championship, Warriors build a $1billion arena move to SF win a Championship. It's a business. Now we have 76ers who have League MVP and added long term star Harden who doesn't have a Championship. This is a good game to get a couple boxes checked for the League. Get an MVP into Conf Finals which Joker never did and in fact no MVP did since Curry in 2016. Get Harden one step closer to a ring which he's never gotten. I can see a Philly/Lakers Finals as plain as day.
Boston has struggled. They've lost 5 of 12 games this post season, not really championship stuff. Horford is struggling, Tatum has had poor games and actually his best games points wise were in losses. Boston doesn't have the "it" factor to me. Just like I said Warriors didn't have the "it" factor and LA does. Meanwhile Philly has played 2nd fiddle for 22 years. Boston has sent them packing in 2 of last 5 postseasons. 3 of last 6 if you go back to 2012. It doesn't end this way for Philly this season, just doesn't add up to me. Players on Cs are struggling at inopportune times and I think we see that tomorrow. I think we see a Philly team that gets going downhill tommorow.
There's certain mojo factors like with the Lakers that get a team over the hump. My friend Stress posted the Harden-John Hao story and that's a good story, it's the kind of story that's karmic. I have preached a Philly/Laker Kobe series for a while now and how compelling that would be. I just don't see this Celtics team coached by Joe Muzzula with their struggles getting by a really good Embiid/Harden team with Doc and his experience (sounds weird right to say Doc can outcoach someone). This is also a check box to get Doc over the curse to. When I look at a game like this, I really don't even look at talent, players, home/away, any of that...I look at storylines, ways to promote the League, future revenue, etc...and to me this all adds up to a 76ers/Heat Conf Finals where Jimmy gets to play his old team, the MVP and Philly FINALLY make the Conf Finals and the Kobe story starts to grow. I fully expect Embiid to demand the ball in the low block and go to work. I expect Harden to distribute and find his mates in good rhythm, he's a phenomenal passer it's a thing of beauty to watch his assists when he is on which I expect manana. I expect 2nd team to hit their shots and play defense. And I expect Boston to struggle when it counts the most and their Coach not being able to help. Normally Philly wins low scoring 98-92 type of games so I'm surprised they didn't win that grinder at home BUT NOW they get a 2nd chance at redemption, and I fully expect them to take that opportunity and capitalize on this season and rid years and years of frustration. This'll come down to Embiid hitting his FTs and I think he will. Harden will make the Finals as he deserves to. This is going to be fun and the value is tremendous. Happy Mother's Day.

Embiid the Sloth ain't no MVP and now everybody sees the mistake with Jokic casualy dropping triple double every game. So rightfuly Jokic gets to the finals and Embiid remains forgotten.
On the other hand, hoping for a banger game to watch and gl with the Sixers bet

Embiid is the mvp. And 76ers are going to lose this game 7 and become 2-6 in game sevens to boston who will become 22-5 in g7s 76ers all time in game 7s will become 11-18.

Foster on the whistle should be very interesting. His history w/ Harden is well documented. Harden had at one point in his career had fouled out of 4 games, 3 of those were w/ Foster. The LA Times did an article a while back asking players and coaches 3 best and 3 worst refs in League. Foster was far and away voted worst.
Foster, 48, who got the worst grades of any referee, has been in the business for 22 seasons.
“He had one of our playoff games and as soon as he walked in, I was like, ‘This game is over.’ We all knew we were going to get bad calls, and we did,” said one veteran player. “You couldn’t say anything to him. Hell, I don’t think you could even look at him.”
“You can’t talk to him. He’s never wrong,” one player complained about Foster. “I like refs where they say, ‘You know what, I made a mistake. I saw it at halftime. You were right.’ But Scott Foster thinks he never makes a mistake. The players see the stats of how he is on the road. He always helps the road team out. He loves to stick it to teams.”
I would love to have seen both locker room's reactions when they learned Foster was on this game. Maybe it's redemption time for Harden? Foster seems to be on his redemption tour this season 1st getting over the CP3 0-13 and most recently 2 nights ago and the Heat 0-11. I am fine w/ my Philly bet.

Also for those betting the total: Scott Foster ref'd playoff games rarely see low scoring games much less 3 games in a row, he is coming off the under in Knicks/Heat Friday (188) and prior to that the under in GS/LA (205) Monday. This series is coming in off a dead under (181) Thursday. I'd find it highly unlikely this game stays under 201 as games after a Foster under go north of 208ppg and Foster ref'd playoff games last 3 seasons avg over 205ppg. I believe Foster call the 2nd most fouls against Boston for what it's worth.

I was wrong on this game. Philly looks lost after that 8pt lead then tech call. Embiid does not have good decision making and Harden does he have Vaseline on his hands, everytime he touches it looks like it goes out of bounds. Congrats Celtics backers, try to stay humble haha right. At least this is the last game I have to see Doc Rivers roaming the sideline, that poor SOB is gunna get drunk tonight.

They have no heart mark. It's going to be a very quiet ride home and Doc should never get another head coaching job again, retire pls and let someone else get a shot.
