I don't think Embiid has played in Denver in 4 seasons. He conveniently avoids suiting up when his mates travel to Mile High every year. Last appearance was 2019-2020 season. What should we expect on the big time ABC game at Noon today Mr. B? What a great line-up of hoops today, hope someone plays a little defense.

Both of these excellent teams are coming off of hideous performances, and what are the chances of that? The Sixers fell behind by as many as 27 points (100-73) in a 134-122 loss on Thursday night in Indiana, a defeat in which head coach Nick Nurse described the team as looking "sluggish" while playing without two starters (De-Anthony Melton missed his 8th straight game and Tobias Harris sat out as well). That same night, the Nuggets went into Madison Square Garden and laid an egg as large as the building itself, falling behind instantly by double digits and only getting worse from there in a pathetic 122-84 drubbing. Everyone stunk it up, including Nikola Jokic, who scored 31 points on 13-18 shooting but led the team with SEVEN turnovers. The team committed a total of 19 turnovers (compared to only 8 for the Knicks) while Nuggets players not named Jokic shot an anemic 21-66 (32%). No explanation was given afterwards for this disgraceful no-show at the world's most famous arena where NBA players are known for bringing their A game. Said Jokic afterwards "They were just very aggressive. One team out on the floor tonight. We were not there."
So which team is more likely to bounce back today? I think it will be the underdog Sixers. The Sixers are 6-1 SU & ATS this season after losing a road game. The only loss occurred in Boston when they played without Joel Embiid AND Tyrese Maxey but easily covered anyway as 12-point dogs in a 125-119 defeat. The Sixers also just had a 6-game winning streak snapped. They began the season going just 1-2 following a loss that ended a winning streak, but two of those games were played without Embiid. Since then, the Sixers are a perfect 3-0 SU & ATS after having a winning streak snapped, beating the T-Wolves by 14, the Magic by 20, and the Bulls by 13.
The Nuggets just had their 3-game winning streak ended, and they are also strong after having a winning streak snapped, going 6-1 and 5-2 ATS, but I don't like this spot for them because they are returning home after a 5-game road trip with just one day of rest. Even worse, it's an afternoon game, something Nuggets coach Mike Malone referenced sarcastically after Thursday's loss to the Knicks. The Nuggets are just 2-1 SU & 1-2 ATS this season at home after returning home from a road trip of more than two games. The lone cover was by a basket over the sorry Spurs. This is in contrast to that championship season of last year when the Nuggets went a perfect 4-0 SU & ATS with Jokic in the lineup in this situation, winning every game by at least 9 points.

The Nuggets are seeking revenge for a loss to the Sixers in Philadelphia just eleven days ago, but the Nuggets are just 2-3 SU & 1-3-1 ATS when seeking revenge this season for a loss in their previous meeting from this season.
