Ok so from now on, to make it easier on myself and to avoid having to create a new thread each day, I'm just going to make a single thread for each sport weekly. All my Picks for each sport will be in the corresponding weekly thread. For example this thread is my NBA picks for 12/18 through 12/24. I'll also a separate thread for this weeks picks for the NFL, NCAAF, and NCAAB. Weeks will start on Mondays, end on Sundays. Hope that makes sense.

Two home favs here. I think the Nets are poised to go on another winning streak with 5 of their next 7 at home and against easier competition (besides on game against Knicks). Plus the Jazz always struggle on the road (4-10 SUATS this year), . The Bucks should be able to get it done at home against the Pacers tonight. The Pacers aren't good enough offensively to pull away from most teams, and we're siding with the home team to keep it close and get the W tonight.

Can't do Cleveland again. Been burned by them too many times this year already. They usually play one good half per game. Of course Toronto is just as bad. Staying away from that one tho

Guys - I missed it as well but there was a flaw in the Nets bet. All I looked at is Lopez playing and Utah sucks on the road... add that with Nets are better than they have been playing and we cover this number. We all KNOW how important the look ahead is in this sport. I just now saw that Nets play Knicks at Knicks tomorrow. We all know they want to beat the Jazz but don't really care in the big scheme. Let's all remember to check that stuff to add value to a great thread that Jfox provides! I will forget to check again, but if one of us finds a bad look ahead spot, we all win. GL Gents!!

I knew they played the Knicks, even mentioned it in my write up. Didn't think it would effect them against a poor road team in UTah. Up 13 at half and just come out completely flat in second half.
1-1 tonight tho. I'll take it. Cya guys tmrw night.

Jfox - Please don't get me wrong as I am not challenging your picks or write ups. (Now the but.. ) When you wrote ..."I think the Nets are poised to go on another winning streak with 5 of their next 7 at home and against easier competition (besides on game against Knicks)." All I read was easy competition in the next 7 but for an upcoming game against the Knicks. I didn't read TOMORROW at KNICKS.... My fault for not checking the forward schedule but there is a difference between. GL moving forward and we will help moving forward.

Oh BTW, funny thing about home favs in the look ahead, they generally do a decent job of covering the first half number (don't have the math to prove it). They hope to get out to a nice lead at half and coast home for an easy W losing interest (or "looking ahead"), often times their plans are thwarted. This is much more important in sports like bball than Foooozball. Anyway, enough of me. Love this thread and the value Jfox provides so let's all add more collective value!!!

Nets blew a 13 point half time lead last night guys, so that was disappointing. Went 1-1 on the evening. Picks are below. I'm leaning Warriors -3 as well so keep posted. Just that game seems to good to be true.
12/19 Picks
$500 Indiana Pacers -3
Both teams are on a back to back, so that gives Indiana a slight advantage here with them being back at home. I still think the Jazz are a poor road team, and I don't think they can put two road wins and covers together on back to back nights. Pacers win 94-87
$500 Charlotte Bobcats +9
So the Bobcats have now dropped 12 in a row after blowing a big lead against the Lakers last night. The Bobcats keep losing but it's not as if they are laying down to their opponents. I see fight in this team. Tonight is their best chance in the next 6 games to end this losing streak. The bobcats prolly know this. The Bobcats were also 9 point dogs at the Spurs a little over a week ago, so this line being at nine is saying the Suns = Spurs. I don't think so. I'll take the points with the Bobcats against a 10-15 Suns team. Now I could be wrong and the Bobcats could lose by 20, but that's gambling. Also I'd like to note in their 12 game losing streak the Bobcats have played 8 games against teams in either the top 5 in the East or West. So it's not that surprising they have dropped 12 in a row with that schedule. And 8 of those losses were within this spread of nine tonight, so it's not like they are getting crushed, as I stated above. They are playing hard, just can't pull out the win in the end. They should be able to hang with the Suns here, and will prolly lose in the end by around 4-7 points. Suns win 100-95.
$1000 Atlanta Hawks +6.5
Atlanta is unexpectedly playing a very high level of basketball and so far are a Top 3 team in the East. They are playing very good defense which is keeping them in most games. They have already beaten this OKC team once this year at OKC as 9 point dogs, so don't think they can't do it again in front of their home crowd. Atlanta forced OKC into 20 turnovers the last time they met as well. OKC has won 11 in a row but 8 were at home and only 1 of the 11 wins was against a team that is top 5 or better in either the East or West (Spurs in their last game). The next best competition OKC has faced in that span was a 6 point win at Brooklyn. Now im not discrediting this OKC team, they are very good, but it won't be as easy tonight. Atlanta has also won 12 of their last 15, and getting 6.5 at home is too many IMO. Atlanta is on a back to back, but they took it easy against the Wizards last night until they had to step up and win the game late. They will want to prove something here. Atlanta wins 100-98

Magic playing very good as of late and the wizards lost a close game at home last night. Wizards have some injuries as well so they lack solid depth and prolly won't be able to hang around or keep it close tonight. That being said I'm not willing to lay that many with the Magic, because they can be inconsistent. I see the Magic winning by around 10 tho.
