This seems like a pretty good play to me. The Thunder do not have an answer for Dirk, and I don't think they can completely switch up their approach from Game 1. They will be forced to continue to try the duo of Ibaka and Collison on him. The reason being is because the other change they can do is to do a hard double on him and get the ball out of his hands quickly. This is something the Mavs will be fine with, because no one spreads the perimeter better than them leaving someone wide open for 3. They will probably do that sometimes, but will not be able to survive all game doing that if the Mavs hit at anywhere near their normal rate.
With Ibaka and Collison on him, Dirk will continue to post them up and abuse them. Ibaka can athletically keep up with him, but his no match for Dirks arsenal of post moves which leads to a lot of contact. Collison doesn't give up much ground but at 6 10, he cant match up down low either.
Obviously he will not go to the line 24 times again tonight, but there is a great chance the trend of him going to the stripe a lot continues because of his comfort playing with his back to the basket. And you know when he gets to the line, the shots are going in as a 92% FT shooter

Who is the retarded oddsmaker to set that total???
wow.
Yea amazing. After I did this write up I went back to put more units on it, and now it is at 7.5 -120. I'm glad I got a couple in at 5.5 but I certainly don't like the bet as much at that number, although I still think its a winner due to all of the above reasons. Rises two whole free throws and barely a juice change in 5 minutes

Geez... wish I could find some of these books who give such gifts...
over 5.5 made ft's is a absolute mockery... someone else was saying that their book was offering DAL at -3.5 and now this?? I would unload my house on this prop... no question!!!!

lmao @ mad_skillz avatar...and ur right. I wonder how many games in the playoffs Dirk has shot under 6 freethrows?
actually the entire Laker Series he never went over 5, but only 2 of the 6 blazer games went under 5. The reason for that I would say is that Dirk wasn't playing in the block in the Laker series with all the size they had. He did his damage with his mid range game in that series which didn't lead to as many fouls.

I just looked it up myself. I figured as much. I guess the matchups with OKC vs Dirk, is just a mismatch waiting to happen!!!

well, since Durant was 14-19 from the line, what is his o/u for the game?
He is at 8.5 at my book up from 7.5 only 30 minutes ago. The Mavs can also not guard him, but 9 is asking a lot. Quick Find made a good point on his thread about Joey Crawford reffing the last game led to an unsual high amount of fouls being called, and tonights head official is Bill Spooner who tends to allow more things to go on. That would make me not play the Durant prop, but doesn't affect my thinking for Dirk.
