Hey guys, i'm wondering. If the nba had an event where they had
numeroous players participate in a 1 on 1 event, who do you guys say
would be the favorite to win. They have these things for streetball i
know. Of course it could in the basketball arena or outside with say game being 11
points. Every shot is 1 point. Who would you guys say would dominate
this contest? I have to go with
1. Kobe
2. Lebron
3. Wade
But would you guys agree that a guard would be in a big disadvantage if
he was up against a forward or center? For example, if you have Steve
Nash who is 6'1 playing 1 on 1 against a 6'10 Tim Duncan, would you guys
agree Nash has no shot because of the height disadvantage? Duncan can
just back down Nash every single time and score and even if he misses,
Nash would have a horrible time even trying to get the rebound. But if
Nash has the ball, then he could just dribble around and Duncan would be
very tired.
Do you guys say like some of those streetball guys could beat NBA players in a 1 on 1 game? There was this guy who won the 1 on 1 event at MSG and his name is Corey "Homicide" Williams. I know is around 6'4 or so and is a guard and did try out for some nba teams but never made it. But he destroyed the 1 on 1 competition.
Would it be right or wrong for me to assume he would destroy some nba players 1 on 1? I mean in the nba, you have guys like Kyle Korver and JJ Redick who don't do anything but wait around the 3 point line and shoot 3s. I would think they would get beat in a 1 on 1 game though. I mean these guys are in the NBA because of what they do best, such as shooting or defense etc.
I mean if it was Ron Artest, he would easily win because he is one of the best defenders in the league. But I feel like lot of these nba players in the league are soft and many of them are just jump shooters and don't play hard. Even Ray Allen for example is a greatshooter but if he had to play a 1 on 1 game, would he still destroy a really good 1 on 1 player that is NOT in the nba?
