Portland hasn't been the same team without Alrdige. Throw in the facts that Josh Smith will have a huge game against Wallace, Joe Johnson is the best perimeter player, ATL is an excellent road team that gets out on three point shooters, I think ATL will grind out a victor in Rose Garden.

This is a tough one, Portland coming off 4 consecutive home losses you would think they'd be desperate to win in front of their crowd, especially after blowing that big lead against the Clippers on Thursday. Also Atlanta is coming off a comeback win in Phoenix, and both teams are in a possible lookahead spot with Atl playing @ Chicago and Portland playing @ LA Lakers both on Monday. Also might be a slight revenge factor for Portland after losing to Atlanta at home last month. I'd lean Portland, but I'll probably stay off this one, BOL

This is true. ATL can't beat top tier teams. The problem is Portland isn't quite a top tier team... they're on the fringe, but with a record barely over 500, they're currently a 2nd tier squad

It seems that L Aldridge will be back for this game, but I do like Atlanta as well...
Portland does play tough at home, but I get the feeling many people think they're tougher than they actually are in that building.. I mean, they are 11-5 at home so they're definitely beatable. ATL is 10-6 on the road so...
I'm looking for a close game and depending on how I do with the Bulls today I may roll with the points.

I don't think either team will look ahead of this game because they are both quality teams- I wouldn't take Portland against a team that has owned them and I have a feeling Hawks might come out flat with their longest lay off between games for the season
