You wouldn't even know who Anderson Varejao was unless LeBron made him a somebody? How many "energy guys" do you know from bottom feeding teams? I'm not trying to argue, but seriously, LeBron is the reason we know who these players are. JaVale McGee is an energy guy that people didn't know about until he was on the dunk contest.
Why didn't Wade join LeBron? Miami Life > Dan Gilbert
Those are just my opinions.
I think people who hate LeBron will try and credit others with his success, and people who love LeBron will credit him for it.
That Cavaliers team had no business being in the Finals. LeBron really carried them there. Just like Iverson and the Sixers. It takes herculean efforts sometimes to match a band of nobodies work.
I'm just tired of people not giving LeBron his credit where it's due because of opinions about his personality. I can only imagine what he will be like in a few years, but people will still hate him because he's LeBron James.
Give james all the credit you want, but don't call a group of good, hardworking NBA players "a band of nobodies". so disrespectful and arrogant. no player can do it by himself. it's basketball, a great team game. If james is herculean, where was he in the biggest game he played in last year? the playoff game against boston when he decided not to show up, for unknown reasons. what would jordan have done that night, if he had been in james' shoes? hide in the corner, like the new hercules did?

He joins forces with D. Wade and he’s suddenly a quitter? By definition, doesn’t wanting to win championships make him a winner? I agree “The Decision” was unnecessary, but don’t belittle the guy’s talents over a poor choice in personal marketing.
More food for thought on LeBron James by the numbers, as reported by Chris Broussard on SportsNation: LeBron James is statistically the best midrange jump shooting player behind only Ray Allen and Dirk Nowitzki. It staggered me, too.
After Game 1 VS Chicago, LeBron haters cried out: Miami Heat’s Big Two can’t overcome the depth of the Chicago Bulls. Miami can’t win on the backs of just two star players. So, you were saying, Miami is comprised of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and a bunch of scrubs, right? I’ll let that statement marinate with you for a second. A mighty compliment in disguise.
Derrick Rose may be NBA MVP, but LeBron is The King. If you need evidence of LeBron’s dominance over Rose, why don’t you check out the last six minutes of Game 2 when LBJ made D. Rose disappear. You’re not dealing with Darren Collison and Jeff Teague anymore, Rosey.
In 2011, we will witness the official coronation of our King: LeBron James.
High five, Colin Cowherd.

WOW!!!! I'll be honest with you SJP, this is the worst take of all your takes; yes, even though every take you have is a joke. "His dominance over Rose"? You did watch the entire season this year, right? You are aware that Rose is the MVP, right? You do know that every take you have on anything is a fucking joke, right? Yeah you have a hot picture, but that obviously is the only thing you have because you don't know shit about anything. Best mid range shooter BEHIND Dirk and Allen? Who gives a fuck? He is one of the WORST, if not the worst closers in the game; and his past proves it. And just when you think you have any credibility left, you give props to Colin Cowherd? That proves it right there that you are the biggest fucking joke on this site. Stop wasting your time writing these stupid and ignorant reports like you are some kind of big time sports reporter who we should all look up to.

The only writing piece I have ever taken issue with is your Kobe Bryant MVP that was written a month ago or so. I appreciate how you hold my boy MJ as the standard when someone is playing unbelievable. People forget SJP how great that boy was

I don't see how you can call them a bunch of scrubs when they had the best record in the league. When they got shaq and mo williams was playing great a lot of people thought they were the best team, and as soon as they lose people kiss his ass and say that he didn't have any help. Its a bunch of BULLSHIT. Cavs fans were saying they were going to win the championship all that season and what happened? He choked and whined and through the rest of the team under the bus. Fuck Lebron James

i'm not trying to start anything just letting you know how i feel (since americans do have freedom of speech) i think your an alright capper. read some of your write-ups and they have been very interesting, as well as coming with merit. With that being said, all hail the "king"? I just wanna know why? Dude hasn't won squat! A couple mvp's and for a lebron hater it's hard to admit, but easily a top 3 player in today's league and a freakish athlete. I guess thats what i see but are we suppose to bow down to him because he guarded rose and him and d-wade slowed d-rose down for 1 game? I hate lebron about as much as any athlete, but i do agree with you about how people view him. How when he wins, it's his teammates. Loses, its on him. All i'm saying is that, adversity shows/builds character. Boston series last year? Once again i understand where you're coming from, but why are we suppose to worship the ground he walks on? Especially if he's won didly squat?
Just my 2 cents. BOL to SJP and everyone on covers!

The group of hard working players had to put up with his shit. Base their game around him year after year. Dive for every ball, train hard to keep their defense strong.
What the fuck did you think would happen to this team after he left? with a new coach and no go to guy on the roster.
Along comes a little girl who doesn't know how to compete with blood, sweat and tears but thinks she knows it all being a sports gambler.
These guys had to work their asses off to make it in the league and finish as top contenders season after season for the East
Scrubs? The only scrub is you SJP, the mighty keyboard warrior.

TAKE A HIKE
Seem to be forgetting Lebron's Game 5 against the Pistons a few years back, which many people consider to be one of the greatest fourth-quarter/overtime performances in NBA history. The guy scored the last 25 straight points for his team. Or his buzzer beater against the Magic? way too much stock being put into last years series against the Celtics. How did the Cavs do this year again with the same team sans Lebron? For those who say that Lebron "isn't a team player" what exactly else is he supposed to do to be a team player? The guy averages nearly a triple-double in his playoff career and is probably the best non-point guard passer in the league. So your telling me that a guy who was 1st in points, assists and steals and 3rd in rebounding on his team (2nd if you take out Haslem's 13 games played) is not a team player? on top of being a good defender as well? Wow people. Say what you want about Lebron, but he didnt choose to have this hype from the time he was in high school. He has been treated like royalty ever since he was 16 years old. Do not give me the "he doesnt have a ring yet speech". If that is all you have to cling onto as a Lebron hater then enjoy your last piece of satisfaction while it lasts.

lol i'm not reading through this shit. Lebron is a coward who needs other stars to acquire something he couldn't achieve on his own. with the god given talent and body he has been given rather than leading his own team he runs to his friends. really impressive right!!!

Excuse me Mr. Devil!! What fckn kingdom are you talking about!! Lebron James was going nowhere with the Cavs. If you do not like Lebron James just say that you do not like him but do not be so biased that you take an extreme perspective and say that he is not a great player. Sara Lee makes good fckn pastries, Good Year makes damn good tires and so on and so forth and Lebron James is a very gifted basketball player just get real dude!!! I doubt that 95 percent of you know who this man really is, if talent was based on character alone there would only be about 50 NBA players, if that!

There would have been something honorable about staying in Cleveland and trying to win it as ' The Man ' ... LeBron, if he would've in Cleveland, and if he could've got a championship there, it would have been over the top for his legacy, just one in Cleveland. No matter how many he wins in Miami, it clearly is Dwyane Wade's team
Here's Micheal Jordan comments about LBJ
"There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry [Bird], called up Magic [Johnson] and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team,'" Jordan said after playing in a celebrity golf tournament in Nevada. The interview aired on the NBC telecast of the event. "But that's ... things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys."
I'll never doubt about LBJ talent & he can win as much as he wants to. But he'll never be Jordan and he'll never be a " real king "

A bunch of scrubs? A bunch of scrubs? How dare you ma'am...how dare you! What Luc Longley was for Austrailia, Anderson Varejao is for Brazil. He is not just crazy hair and a headband. He is a basketball sensation! When Dwayne Wade viciously dunked on him, he fell to the ground so gracefully. And lets not even get started on the genius of Mo Williams. Three rebounds a game...yeah, that happened.

The argument that Bird, Magic, Jordan, etc. "didn't leave and join with another superstar" is so tired. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't these guys all have another superstar on their team already? In most cases, didn't these teams have TWO of the top 50-100 players of all-time on their team?
I asked you guys who you would want from his past teams, and you said "oh yeah, Anderson Varejao." Seriously, Anderson Varejao? If I asked you the samething about the Bulls, you'd say Scottie Pippen. How about Kobe's Lakers? You could say Gasol, Bynum, Odom, etc. When I asked you about the Cavaliers, you HAD TO make an argument by saying "oh yeah, Anderson Varejao, big time." That's how pathetic LeBron haters can be. They find a reason to hate the guy just to hate the guy.
I'm not saying he's better than MJ. So everyone can throw that out the window and stop lamenting on it.
LeBron James is going to rule the NBA soon with championship rings to boot. You can hate the guy all you want, but finding reasons to belittle his on the court game makes you look foolish.
Instead of finding reasons to argue, just say: I don't like LeBron James for his personality. I can believe that.

regardless of this dudes thread.....most of you posting against his opinions are closet d-bags and dress up as LeBron and touch yourself when home alone
I'd place a hefty wager that 85% of Lebron haters, were Lebron lovers prior to him leaving Cleveland...you proclaimed him the best, you wanted him to win championships, wanted to watch him play and wanted to blow up his overall image until he was the new MJ
but he didnt get a Grant, Kerr, Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc combo of any sorts....as great as MJ was, if he was on, say the Clippers or some other team without a decent supporting cast, his ass woulda blown outta CHI ina heartbeat...
Lebron made a decision which he knew would: lose him money....lose fans...put him on someone ELSEs team...bring insane amounts of criticism...put 10x the weight on his shoulders to win not only a title, but multiple titles ( as even being proclaimed the greatest player and next MJ wasnt enough of a weight already ).....but sooooo many single-mined tools have the nuts to call Lebron a quitter, chump, selfish, ect......

Enough is enough SJP. Been reading your blogs and articles this postseason, and just have to say I love your work. You have a bright future ahead especially with your knowledge, humor and looks. Your like a female version of Bill Simmons. I'm serious you are head on with Lebron's greatness. Besides you Chris Boussard, and The Herd no one else was backing up "The King" this season. I'll remember this in 4 years (and 4 titles later) when the rest of the media jumps on the bandwagon and compares Lebron to Mike. By the way Lebron is better. I actually just joined as a member because I wanted to share this...keep telling it how it is lady!
Go Heat (+350) to win NBA Championship...+120 to win Bulls series

I completely agree, I think the league just didn't wanna see LeBron grab the MVP 3 years in a row, but at the end of game 2 it was apparent, LeBron was the better player then Rose... The last few minutes when the game was tied is when it was time for the stars to take over, LeBron did make Rose disappear while he excelled... I still think overall Chicago has a better TEAM then Miami, but LeBron is def. the equalizer.
