cheers for sharing again scalabrine...i see the idiots are out again early....line is a bit steep for me for this team, mulling it over, mite be passing but appreciate wat you do regardless.expect you will be back on track in quick order [/Quot
The blind leading the blind. Nobody is hating on scal I'm just pointing out the obvious that in theory you could recycle Scals write ups and post them everytime the Knicks play.
Recycle the Knicks?
Is that right?
I'm 9-4 this year.
I've played:
Blazers 2X
Nets 2X
Kings1X
Lakers2X
Knicks6X
So the majority if my plays are NON-KNICKS plays (7 to 6). One of those games I actually faded the Knicks on.
Also, my last loss betting the Knicks was my only loss of the year betting them (5-1) so the record states I should be betting and writing them up MORE not less if that is what we are here to do: WIN.
So not only are you wrong about me betting the Knicks but you are making a complaint about where I've had the most success. To what? Have me post less so others can make less money?
I thought this site was about winning money.
If I cap 82 games and all 82 are Knicks games and I hit 60%, would youabout it? Probably.
My thread titles should always be: "Fools Rush In"....

thanks for the writeup Scal.. nothin bad about knowing a specific team inside and out and honing in on em. the knicks have been breakin my heart years now so its nice to get a few bucks back on em here and there.. cheers man
Exactly. Look at how many views the pacers and wizards threads have!
People want experts on specific teams, not all of them (impossible).

Scal. What do u rate this play out of 5? Thinking of putting a large bet
Gonna go with a 4 here. I have justified laying the big number in the OP. I would never post a pick with a line this big without explaining how you could lay this much chalk.

well this explains something I've been wondering the past few days.
I noticed a few days ago that the knicks are $41 to win the eastern conference finals. I know they have 0 chance of winning it but what I found strange is that bulls are also $41, atlanta is $51 and washington is $81.
I thought how can the knicks have such much higher odds than these teams already in play off contention with knicks 5 games out.
This indicated to me that the books are anticipating the knicks to make play offs, which means they will win most if not all of these easy games.
thanks for your insight. time to get back onboard with the knicks at least until they start playing good teams again!
Exactly. They will go on a little run here starting tonight.

You and I knew the line would be steep. You always pay a premium for the Knicks.
They are the Dallas Cowboys of the NBA. No matter how bad or mediocre, there is always a large segment of the public betting them.

They weren't awful in Minny. They looked like the Warriors that night. That's a start.

Nice writeup sir, also a knick fan so very hard for me to pull the trigger but I think the Knicks matchup very well against this also trash jazz team, except maybe at the pg position, if chandler can hold love to minimal production, and keep that intensity for this game the jazz have no chance, correction it's the Knicks so they have a chance. Haven't touched any knick games in a while, might b on Knicks tonight , GL all

Hi Scal. I'm with you on this one (and should have grabbed the line at 5 when it opened yesterday) but I thought you might be interested in what a capper I like to read has to say about this game. The part about Corbin ripping into his team caught my attention:
"No doubt Utah is among the many bad teams in the NBA who are concerned more about landing a high draft pick and building for the future than playing for this season.
But I see this as a value spot taking a small market team playing in the Big Apple taking, what I perceive to be, an inflated number.
Yes, the Jazz are bad. But so is New York. The Knicks are 22-40. The Jazz are 21-40 and play in the far more difficult Western Conference. So which team is really better? New York has the better talent, but has far more distractions and controversies.
Utah is 0-4 during its six-game road trip. They Jazz are off a bad 104-91 loss to the Wizards where their coach, Tyrone Corbin, questioned their focus and energy. Teams usually perform better in their next game when their coach rips their focus and energy. This a due spot for the Jazz to have one of their better performances.
The Jazz don't have anyone close to the star level of Carmelo Anthony. But they do have some good piece-type guys, who are developing into decent players. The Knicks need to rebound well to cover this large of a number. The Jazz have a couple of underrated quality big men in Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter. Utah has a couple of underrated scorers, too, with Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks. New York is 20th in rebounding margin. Utah ranks right behind them in this category.
The Knicks played one of their best games in a long time upsetting the Timberwolves, 118-106, two nights ago on the road. Even with that victory, the Knicks are just 3-13 since February. They are 0-4 ATS the past four times taking on below .500 opponents and haven't won back-to-back games since late January.
I question the Knicks' incentive, too. Do they want to take their shot in the lottery, or try to sneak into the playoffs as the last seed where they will be destroyed by either the Heat or Pacers?"
He's wrong in several points.
1) Knicks don't have a lottery pick this year. They traded it for Melo.
2) He mentions that the Jazz play in the superior WC but then quotes how they were roughed up by an EC team, the Wizards.
He doesn't mention how they also got romped by the worst of the worst in the game before that: a 26 point loss to the Bucks. Matter of fact, they are on a 6 game EC road trip right now: they've lost all 4 so far and now have the Knicks.
3) Lastly, Corbin's speech is valid but it is mistimed.
The jazz have the Sixers up next. Why give the speech against the Knicks who are fighting for an eighth seed when you have a layup in the next game? You should always time your motivational speeches/criticisms before highly probable wins so it will result in confidence, not more losing (as they are on the road on a 6 game road trip east and are underdogs against the Knicks).
4) The Knicks have and always will be "win now or else" so I never question them from a tanking aspect/motivation no matter how much they lose.

Knicks can also go on a winning streak but that doesn't mean they will cash for bettors ATS.
