My line from handicapping is NY Mets -1.23 for this game. Lowe is better than his stats, because he has faced uperior lineups for most of his pitches. Pelfry, believe it or no,t is also a tad better than his stats, for the same reason.
The only drawback is that the Mets find a way to lose on the road. I have to get +102 to bet this game, which can be found everywhere.
I'm starting to get into baseball now that basketball is almost done. I'm 1-0 so far +1 unit, posting here.
I welcome all comments, and additional late information such as bullpen availability, lineup changes, etc.

As a Braves fan, I can tell you that Derek Lowe has been a very lucky man since we aquired him in the previous offseason. The only reason he was a 15-game winner last year and has a favorable record this year is because he gets an unusually high amount of run support from the offense. I'm still not convinced he has good stuff anymore...but of course, the Braves' bats have been pretty hot as of late, so hopefully that continues tonight. GL if you find yourself on the Braves' side.

Braves! I think I'm going with the alternate RL -2 1/2 on a chance that they stay hot and continue to pound the ball especially after mets got swept over weekend by Florida

I am going w/Braves. Their bats are hot and the Mets are slumping.
>Mets swept Atl earlier this year....so looking at the revenge factor
>Pelfrey last 3 starts @ ATL is 0-2 with an 11.30 ERA
The Mets are Slumping and dumping. I agree.
Why did it take so long for the moron Met manager to take Reyes out of the 3 spot in the lineup? He has no power, contrary to what Joe Morgan says (you'd think he never even played the game the way he talks sometimes), so maybe this "genius' of a manager will figure out a way to lose yet another game. I am no Met fan, it's just that Lowe is not the greatest, so that's why the play.

I want to thank all of those who made a contribution to my thread.
It's nice to see that my line was indeed accurate for this game.
The predicted score I came up with was 4-3 (rounded) Mets. I guess 3-2 Mets was an acceptable result.
I am looking forward to Tuesday's games with hopefully another play or 2 or even 3. However, remember, you get what you paid for.
We are looking for games with at least a 10% edge in theory, but will probably settle in at the 5-10% range, so we will never have a lot of plays. The linesmaker can only screw up a small pct. of the time.
