si1ly do you have any leans/plays for MNF tonight?
Too many unknowns going tonight and I think the line is extremely sharp. I'm going to stay a spectator just like last night. Strongest lean is on the over.

Thanks for those nfl picks I even played ur parlay.....money again! I then put those winnings on Pats too!!!!
Awesome! Win or lose, that parlay was worth the price of admission for entertainment alone! Two incredible games and two more home dogs for my bankroll. Making a living off of the home dogs this year. I'm +16 units in three weeks of NFL wagers. It's also over 100% ROI. That's almost half of what took me all summer to profit in the MLB hahaha.

I'm done betting regular season MLB. Instead of spending 2-3 hours per day handicapping and going through the whole process of publishing the sheets.. I'm using that time to convert my NFL databases into a publishable sheet. Once week 4 is finished, NFL current season data starts to become relevant. It would be nice to have the sheets finished for Week 5, so I'm busting balls trying to code the software. Besides, at this point in the MLB season, there are too many variables to rely on pure statistical probability alone. I don't like to gamble in the last two weeks for this reason.. it's better that I focus my time and efforts on sports handicapping elsewhere. Trust me, getting these NFL sheets done now will be worth missing a few weeks of MLB sheets.

Sounds good buddy, can't wait for the playoffs and hope you keep rolling in the NFL.

I'm a licensed architect. Basic programming skills is useful with all the work I do on the computer.
Very cool - I had you pegged as financial analyst \ programmer \ accountant \ day trader but architect definitely fits. I'm finishing up a degree in computer science with a focus in network security and the way you gather \ process statistics has always intrigued me.
I'm assuming you have a database of raw stats that you gather. I looked into API's that you may be using and found the Gameday API. Do you use this to continually update your database? Then I figured you have some kind of frontend which displays advanced statistics, as well as a way to export your daily reports to excel files.
Actually, I know it can't be this automated because you've mentioned how long it takes to compile the sheets each day. Any chance you could explain the technical side to your system (with technologies used)? This is just me being curious - if it's a secret don't worry about it :) I could probably build the system but the real gold is knowing how to read and infer from the advanced stats.

The team data including hitting, bullpen, fielding and record information is all automated. They are automatically downloaded from fangraphs and baseball-reference into a database when I open the file. The only thing that I can't automate is the pitching data including full season, last 30 and splits information. I have customized datasets with fangraphs that I download as a .csv file. I then have to manually remove pitchers that are not currently active or add pitchers that don't have a qualifying amount of data. This is the time consuming part. Once I make those corrections, the pitching subset can be used to drive the model. The sheets themselves are .pdfs and all the cells are conditionally linked to the pitcher or team name so the process of running the sheets is only as time consuming as choosing a few teams and pitchers from a drop down menu, recording the Vegas line, and saving the file as a .pdf. The part that takes the most time is the behind the scenes work. The maintenance of the databases in particular. They're automated as much as possible, but it still takes about two hours per day to go from start to finish. And then I can use them to start handicapping. It's a tedious process, but the alternative of handicapping each game individually would be much more difficult and time consuming. So it's ultimately worth the daily effort. Then you all get to benefit by not having to do any of the work and having every game broken down and handicapped.

A little off subject silly but Can I know your thought process in hgandicapping NFL?
NFL lines are the tightest out there so exclusively betting on the undervalued side is the best starting point for a profitable season. I use power ranking models to compare the strengths and weaknesses of each team's offense and defense in terms of total performance, passing, rushing, and special teams. I use these power rankings, coupled with a relative strength index that I developed to handicap the lines and moneylines. I compare these numbers to the Vegas lines and I narrow down my card to teams that have value - usually do to some narrow minded public perception variable. After identifying which lines are tight and which lines are lose, I go back to the power rankings to determine which of those value teams has the best chance to win outright or cover the spread. I then bet the spread and/or the moneyline accordingly. The NFL is a sport of parody. I'm trying to bet like a bookie covering his own action, albeit selectively.

We sure do! Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I really hope you realize that there are very few people who can do what you do and none of them are sharing their picks\info like you are. To get to the point that you are at must have taken years.
I have been looking into solutions so I can be notified on my phone when you post threads because refreshing covers all day is getting old haha. I think I'm going to have to develop something myself though.
