The Preakness is on a track that favors speed. Horses that run from mid pack to back are in big trouble.
Why do you think he now freshens and runs well, he is on a declining beyer pattern and there is no reason in the world to expect better today.

This pattern of one big beyer that overshadows all others is the worst in the beyer world. The big beyer followed by inferior ones seldom leads back to the big beyer.
GL with your pick today....I think you really need it.

maybe you keep landing on him because you handicap with Beyer figures but have never ever read the books that explains them?

his race on poly on 10-28-09 same beyer as the f/u at CD on 11-22-09.
No improvement to the dirt. Nothing here to indicate he does not like the poly.
You can keep wishing it but this horse does not fit this race. Works good on poly or dirt no difference.
You can try to make him fit but that is not handicapping.

Borel doesnt just get lucky in the derby, it takes talent to do what he does & you need the horse to answer your every move. Borel has this in Super Saver. As far as Pleasant Prince, I would be shocked if he won this race but wouldnt be suprised if he snuck in for the exotics but anything can happen in racing I suppose.

Super Saver did not get lucky in the Derby, I totally agree with this. That said, he caught the dead ass on perfect trip. He rode the rail (which is the fastest part of the track at CD) and then only had to move around one horse to finish on the rail. If he shakes free today , he wins. I think that lookin at lucky does not let him shake free today. Lookin at Lucky got hammered in his last two, before that he was the best 3 yr old horse in the world. If he wins today, he may regain that roll.

Again, you are wrong. You asked a question and then proceeded to argue with me and ignore convincing rebuttals then lost the race.
In the future, if your question is hypothetical state it as such. Hope you did not bet a lot on that declining Beyer nag.
