And in the 1800's, white men owned slaves. Over time people and cultures learn from their mistakes. I am a white man and have never owned a slave, why lump in today's Japanese culture, from one almost 100 years ago??

All of what you typed up has absolutely nothing to do with why there is no looting going on in Japan...
Some people rebuild after a bad situation while other people take advantage of a bad situation...
Another thing to remember in Japan is that they DO NOT fuck around. If people would start looting, they would be killed.
We had a flood here in 1977 and after the devastation, the looters came out and the orders were given to shoot looters on site, but they looted anyways...

Agreed...
There are FAR worse things to worry about in Japan right now than stealing flatscreen televisions...

True. And this may sound dumb, but is ALL of Japan rubble?? A lot of the looters in New Orleans weren't even from Louisiana. A lot of these scumbags were from up North and went down there to prey on others' misfortunes. Which all goes back to respect for your fellow countryman and the human race in general. Way too many here could care less about their fellow man.

I have a friend from West Virginia who sells Lego Sets and 2 days ago he had some very odd and strange orders for some rare sets to be shipped.. To Japan. He told me that this was the first time that he had ever even had a order go to Japan.
