If you buy 1 ticket your odds of having a winning ticket are 1 in 175,711,536.
If you buy 350 tickets your odds of having a winning ticket are 1 in 502,132.
How are those odds the same?
Please tell me how you came up with those odds. There is no way that is correct.

You're right I didn't have a calculator handy when I ran those numbers. The correct number should be 1 in 502,033.
Sorry.

Your odds are exactly the same whether you spend 1 dollar for 350 dollars.
After much research it turns out that this statement could in fact be true,so I extend my apologies.
Let me clarify. A person playing 350 tickets would indeed have the same odds as someone buying just 1 ticket. The only way to have dramatically better odds as I suggested is if the person buying 350 tickets would have a different set of numbers on each ticket instead of every ticket being identicle.

My ex made me go to a Gamblers Annonymous meeting a LONG time ago. There was a guy, around 50, a professional type, could tell he had a little money. Anyway, dude's wife and kids hadn't spoke to him in over 2 months. Long story short, he said he used to spend on average about 200-300 A DAY on the same stuff as person in front of you. All kinds of lotto, and of course when he won the scratch offs, he would just go back and get more with that money. Had good enough credit to get a visa gold card with 50k max, got a friggin PO BOX to get the bill sent to, to hide from wife, and within 5 months, had it maxed!! Then had to go break the news to his wife.
Told my GF, "thanks for making me go to the meeting, those people REALLY have problems, I'm fine."

Check this out...Florida Fantasy Five ,Monday night's drawing
14 15 16 17 18 47 winners $4581.74
Last night. 2 winners paid $126,799.30
Can't belive people will play exact order numbers, even if they come out you're beating the long odds for $4500 lousy bucks?
That said I've been playing the same set of numbers that is pretty much NOT the easiest pencil stroke on the ticket hoping if those numbers hit, these morons won't be on it also..Every day for 15 plus years or whenever they went daily, only hit 4/5 two or 3 times..That pays shit.I'm down more $ than the crazy ticket players.
