Pleasers - A pleaser is a group of football and/or basketball side straight bets combined into one bet. The difference between a pleaser and a teaser is that with a pleaser, the line you bet against for each individual wager is moved against your favor from 6-7½ points. If the regular line is -10 and you play a 6-point pleaser, then your line would be -16.
So let's say I chose the following sides (in bold) as a 6 pt pleaser:
Dallas -3 @ Oakland 46 1/2
Philly -7 1/2 @ Cincy 42
Denver -4 @ Kansas City 43 1/2
My pleaser would read:
Dallas -9 Cincy -1 1/2 Kansas City -2
Now, it sucks adding more points to cover onto the teams you like, but the payouts are almost 3 times as good as a standard parlay.
Parlay payouts (5Dimes):
2 = 2.64-1 3 = 6-1 4 = 12.28-1 5 = 24.35-1
Pleaser payouts (5Dimes):
6 points 2 = 6-1 3 = 17-1 4 = 45-1 5 = 120-1
6.5 points 2 = 13-2 3 = 19-1 4 = 55-1 5 = 150-1
7 points 2 = 7-1 3 = 21-1 4 = 63-1 5 = 180-1
7.5 points 2 = 8-1 3 = 26-1 4 = 80-1 5 = 240-1
The payouts are obviously much better than a parlay, but is it worth it to put a little down on a 2 or 3 teamer each week during football and basketball season?
I don't like parlays and rarely play them (2 or 3 teams at the most), might touch a teaser every now and then (again, 2 or 3 teams) - but have never messed with pleasers.
Any info or stories would be great - thanks.
