Sorry guys for the confusing 3 threads I posted one that said Tuesday for tonight and 1 that had no label. I am still a little tipsy from last night.
YTD 0-1
Both Tulsa and Boise St come into tonight wanting to make an impression in front of a National Audience. Boise St is a perfect 5-0 this year highlighted by wins over an unprepared Oregon and a weak Fresno St team. Before the season even started this team was labled a BCS ready team returning most of the talent from last years squad. However looking closer at the performances of this Bronco team I have found alot of cracks. A defense that is labled as great was gashed by Fresno St for 507 yards. I'm sorry but if you are great you will not get gashed by a 1 dimensional team like Fresno St. If it wasnt for some key turnovers and some big plays given up by the Bulldogs. Fresno couldve won that game. On offense Boise has been pretty solid although they struggled last week against UC Davis. The loss of RB DJ Harper is gonna prove costly as Boise only avg 3.1 yards per carry last time out.Quarterback Kellen Moore did his best to make up for the sluggish running game by throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to receiver Austin Pettis, but the offense still had trouble sustaining drives. The Broncos had nine penalties, were stopped on six of 10 third-down attempts and produced 13 points on four first-half trips in the red zone. Oh and that great defense also gave up 206 yards passing and 2 touchdowns to this division 2 opponent. Now they did miss their star DB Kyle Wilson in that game but still it is no excuse. So you see this defense is not as great as everyone thinks and tonight against an offensive juggernaut in Tulsa they will be exposed.
Now Tulsa this year had to replace last year's star QB and star RB. Well at QB they have found another gem. Sophmore G.J. Kinne who started his career with Texas is having a fine year throwing for 1142 yards and 10 touchdowns. This guy can also make plays with his legs leading the team with 175 yards and 2 TD's on the ground. Boise doesnt have a great pass rush ranking 97th in the nation in that category averaging only 1.20 per game, so Kinne will have time to throw. We all know what star wideout Damaris Johnson can do he is a Big Play threat waiting to happen. So far this year he averages 198.8 yards all purpose ranking him 4th in the nation. Boise is gonna have a hard time keeping this guy in check. Tulsa on the defensive side of the ball has been much improved this year. They have a veteran defensive unit and they seem like they are more than up to the task this year. They are 12th in the nation in sacks per game at 3 and 7th in the nation in tackles for loss with 8.6 per game. These guys are capable and will bring it tonight.
As far as motivation here is some info I gathered up .
It's a huge game for us. Having a top 10 team coming to our house, it's going to be a great atmosphere," nose guard Wilson Garrison said. "We've talked about Boise a lot around here, the tradition they've built in winning in and out every year with discipline and character. That's something we want to do, so it's a huge game and a huge opportunity for us."
Tulsa has fallen flat in the national spotlight lately. Arkansas foiled the Golden Hurricane's bid for the BCS last year with a 30-23 defeat that brought a halt to their 8-0 start, and Oklahoma teams ranked in the top 10 have handed them a pair of losses by a combined 107-21 margin over the past three years - including 45-0 earlier this year.
In that game, Tulsa played without two of its starting offensive linemen and lost senior free safety Charles Davis to a season-ending injury.
"We've got a chance now to go out against Boise State and say that score wasn't indicative of what it came out and get a chance to redeem ourselves," Graham said. "In my tenure here, this is the biggest game we've had at this university - especially at home."
"It's going to be a big, big night. Our guys are excited. I know they're going to play their hearts out."
Guys I'm going with Tulsa as I think they will get it done tonight.

Your really not serious are you? Weak Fresno State team? They OUTGANIED Cinny @ Cinny, Wisky @ Wisky, and Boise State. Weak teams don't outgain two top 10 teams. Total yards gain in the most overlooked stat when handicapping games. It measure how both the offense and defense is playing. Played Wisky and Cinny very tough and the Boise score was much closer then indicated.

First of all I did say Fresno couldve beat Boise, If it wasnt for some costly turnovers and defensive breakdowns. 2nd of all when you have a swiss cheese defense like Fresno's your team is weak. 3rd of all the polls dont mean anything both Cincy and Boise St at the end of the year will not be in the top 10 and 4th of all as you can see I did not cap the game based on total yardage, I capped the game based on matchups. However thanks for your comment though and good luck tonight.

I say "the weather is gonna be the biggest factor tonight", because if it starts pouring like that mizz/neb game then that pass game is going nowhere. Both teams like to pass, but who got the better run off/deff? I dont know if Boise is gonna win by 2 posessions, but they still win. Unless Tulsa scores off turnovers, then Boise got problems

Im on the same side as you, and I think this game is going under as well
good luck to us
Im worried about two things: one is if that Boise St game against UC Davis last time out was a fluke (meaning that Boise will come out and blow out Tulsa like they're supposed to), and two is if this game will turn out like the Boise/Fresno game which would be disaster because that means I lose the Tulsa bet and the under

Great write up DaExpert! You certainly make a case for Tulsa..
The funny thing is this - With enough effort and proper wording we can all make a case for either team in any matchup. Kinda like a lawyer proving somebody innocent when really they were guilty.
What's biggest factor any of you can see that determines who cover's the spread tonight?

That's it...I agree totally...What it boils down to is Tulsa and its fans are going to be up for this prime time matchup....Tulsa keeps it close if not wins outright...

Anyone who would even think about laying money on Tulsa might as well flush it down the toilet. Tulsa has played one real team this year and got beat 45 - 0 by an in-state rival Oklahoma. Of the other 4 games, the 3 D1 teams they played have a combined record of 2 - 16. I won't even talk about the D2 team. So talking about Tulsa's wonderful stats are meaningless, unless you want to talk about the 200 yds they gained against Oklahoma and the 600 they gave up. Clearly this is a young team that is not used to the spotlight.
While the level of competition for Boise has not been that great either, they have played teams that are decent. Fresno St, while only 2-3, has played a monster out of conference schedule taking Wisky to OT and putting a scare into Cincy. And the only really serious BCS team Boise has played, they beat handily allowing Oregon 153yds of offense. Also worth mentioning tha the two national ESPN games (Oregon and Fresno St) Boise covered easily. These guys know how to play in front of a national TV audience.
This is it for Boise. No more TV games this season. From a BCS perspective, this is their season and they know it. Tulsa doesn't stand a chance. Boise 44 Tulsa 14
