Hello fellas! So here's the deal. I've been on this site for at least 3 years now but have not been as religious about posting my plays as a lot of fellow posters whom have been here for awhile and whom I respect. Why? Well because I'm a dumbass who is superstitious. I had three consecutive seasons that put a certain doctor to shame, worked as a filthy tout for the 2nd largest handicapping site on the net....and then I found Covers. I was cocky, ran my mouth, posted my plays and got what I deserved.... some ho-hum a.k.a. crappy seasons. (I consider 57% 'ho-hum' seasons, as I flat bet, but am trying to cross over into unit betting a little bit.) Anyway, I've learned a ton from this site and think it's time to say 'ef it' to my superstitious ways. I do take a lot of games and/or plays at the last minute, but am going to try to post my most solid plays on here every week. I'm kind of a pansy the first week or two and don't go crazy with plays like some of the awesome cappers on here. If you ever need to know who the legit cappers on here are (since there are tons of clowns who have made this site a circus recently, then I'd be glad to share input.) I hope I can help some people out this year! Oh, and I do use a computer system after week 3 that has been very good over the last 12 years, but produced mediocore results the last three seasons. Although they were winning seasons, the percentage dropped. So I'm hoping to get back true to form! Here is what I'm liking.(lines via sportsinteraction.com)
Thursday, Sept 3rd:
N. Carolina St -4 over S. Carolina Hate to sound like a broken record, but Russell Wilson is just flat out good. You know who else is good? Tom O'Brien. He's a damn good Head Coach. He was a master at getting max. effort and talent out of his players at Boston College. USC has a better defense than NC State, but I think their offense struggles, especially if we see the Stephen Garcia of last year at QB.
Oregon +4 at Boise St I know Boise is unreal at home, but they usually aren't playing Pac-10 opponents of Oregon's caliber. I wouldn't be surprised to see Oregon win the Pac-10 this year. I admit that Oregon's revamped O-Line scares me, but with Masoli at QB, he can run his way out of trouble. Also, Jeremiah Johnson was a straight stud, but this year's starting RB (Blount) ran for over 1,000 yards last year and averaged 7.3 ypc. I think this Oregon offense greatly resembles Nevada's offense from last year, and Boise struggled with them. Of course, Oregon has better athletes than UNR. If Oregon can tighten up in their secondary and not let Kellen Moore freaking pass all over them, like they did last year, then Oregon should win handily. I know that's a big 'IF', but I'm willing to say it will happen.
WEEK 1 LARGE PLAY: (nice poop color, huh?)
Minnesota -6.5 over Syracuse This line jumped out at me when the lines came out. It's so good that it almost is scaring me away from the game! Seriously. I simply can't believe that a Minny team who returns so many starters, including a very good QB in Webber and an All-American WR is Decker, are less than a TD + ExP favorite over a horrible Syracuse team. Minny gets first crack at Greg Paulus, who hasn't played football since High School! Minnesota had a horrible pass defense last year, but what are the chances that Paulus lights it up in his first game? Basically, I don't think Syracuse can score with Minnesota. It's as simple as that.I normally like to just go day by day as far as plays go, but I see this line jumping up very soon. Well, unless there is something I don't know about yet!
Notes: VERY tempting to take Ball St -17 over N. Texas. If you were like me, you bet against N. Texas every game last year and you made a crap load of money. In all seriousness, most teams had the spread covered at Halftime. That's a big number and Nate Davis is gone, but I don't know if people realize how horrible N. Texas is, especially on the road. I may lay that huge chalk.

Who took over Jim_Tressel's computer this season? Didn't he used to offer good insight to games? Now I see he is jumping from thread to thread and bashing everybody that is on Minnesota. Who is this guy? And what have you done with the real Jim Tressel poster?!

By the way, I ran all of these games through my computer system (based on LAST YEAR'S numbers) and it came out liking the exact opposite of what I have right now.
