June Jones maybe proved to a few guys that these early S^H#I@T Bowls don't always come down to studs, talent and stats so if you want to keep laying big chalk on S+H@I^T team faves like Robert smith and the ESPN experts, its your money. GL everyone tonite
CMU + 6.5 (1*)
CMU/WKU OVER 56.5 Let me begin by saying that I know nothing about these 2 other than what I read and the way I decipher stats, schedules, and other data which obviously some guys interpret alot differently. I have never seen either team, and am not a big SunBelt disciple. And yes I know that CMU has suspended 1100+ receiving yards for this Game(that is why only a 1* instead of a 2*). I read other threads all they mention is RBs Antonio Andrews and Zurlon Tipton. I think this game comes down to 2 terrible D's and 2 key guys you're not gonna read about in many other threads.
I have a hard time backing a S+H@I<T Bowl 6.5 fav that has covered only one game since Oct 11(by 1 pt) and that has only won 1 game since Oct. And that only win was by a single point in final (Home) game as 12 point chalk over a 4-8 N. Texas St. dynamo.
And this of course is their 1st Bowl Game. Congrats on a great (?) year in that great conference. Tough enough to handle the distractions of that role. But now without the Coach that recruited these kids and rebuilt the program. Will Taggart was offered the most lucrative contract in SunBelt conference, and still bolted for the sunny sky of S. Fla. just 2 weeks ago. So tonight the Toppers have their Def Coordinator calling the plays. With one of the biggest Snakes in NCAA coaching history ready to take over the realms nest year. Slime. Major distraction. Who knows, maybe that will work, not with my money tho.
Central Mich stinks, I'm claiming nothing other than that. They suck. Period. They were scorched for 260 pts in 6 dog roles this year. But Mt Pleasant is a slingshot from Ford Field, and they know this Bowl. Dan Enos made it thru 2 3-9 seasons with these kids, kids HE recruited. So certainly no shortage of "wanting to be here". He had to win his last 3 games to become Bowl eligible. He covered all 3. In fact he won and covered 4 of last 5. All against crap teams I know that, but they did it. I don't care if they were all 1-11 or if they were 10-1. They did it. Hilltoppers didn't. I repeat...WKU couldn't!
So back to those 2 key players I think play SO SO big in this game. Central Mich has All American OT Eric Fisher #79, a first round draft pick. 305 lbs of beef. Watch Zurlon Tipton run.
And for WKU #93 DefEnd Quanterus Smith. the SunBelt Defensive Player of the Year. He'll be the dude on the sidelines with the crutches, out. Like I said, watch Zurlon Tipton run.
This one also hits on 2 Bowl angles that I reference. Not trends. But like some guys tell me every thread, those don't matter anway. I'll stick with them before Robert Smith picks.
