Florida is the real winner here. They couldn't have asked for an easier path to a national championship if they drew it up themselves. They got an 11 seed in the Elite 8, a 7 seed in the Final Four, and potentially an 8 seed in the final whom they've beaten 3 times this year.

Easy??? Both Uconn & Wisky beat Florida this season...

Not sure how many times it needs to be said. Florida had key players suspended or injured in both of those games. The Gators have not lost once this season at full strength.

Who was out for Florida when they played UConn? I'm looking at the box score and I see the top 6 guys for Florida playing. Or was one of them playing injured? Just curious I need as much info as I can get

Wilbekin missed the final few minutes with a high ankle sprain after landing on Boatright's foot.

Thanks. He still got 35 minutes in...I'm wondering if my Huskies have more magic left in the tank
I put $250 on them to win it all when they were +5000 .. But I also have a lot more on Florida futures, so I'm good either way.
This UConn team is reminding me a lot of 2011. Wouldn't be surprised if they got two more wins. If they can beat MSU and Florida, they should have no problem beating the winner of Kentucky and Wisky.

I think they match up well against Florida. Kentucky scares me though. Great offensive rebounding teams (like Louisville) destroy UConn. If UConn does upset Florida I'm praying to the basketball gods that Wisconsin beats Kentucky because there is no way in hell UConn can beat Kentucky.

Rebounding is an issue, but they hung in there with a much bigger and stronger MSU team. The Spartans won the rebounding margin by two! Also, Kentucky isn't a great shooting team (Today vs. Michigan was a fluke) .. If UConn could keep Kentucky out of the paint like they did against MSU, I like their chances.
Regardless, I would certainly take my chances with Napier in a championship game any day of the week. Throw the stats and everything out of the window in the final game. He just refuses to let his team lose.

Gators had a huge collapse against Kentucky in the SEC tourney champ game.
They were lucky cats missed final shot after falling apart and blowing a big lead late.
That game was close but what about the Florida 19 point win over Kentucky at home? Or the 10 point victory in Kentucky that Florida had..Not saying Kentucky can't win it all But Florida has been the best team this year and have now won 30 straight games..

Not saying Florida can't win it all. I was just pointing out to earlier posts that Florida is not unbeatable. I watched them dominate Kentucky in the sec champ game and then the cats turned the tables late, erased a huge deficit, and had the ball for last shot and win. They had the gators on the ropes and reeling.
You can throw out those 2 earlier games, as the only one that is relevant is the most recent contest. It is obvious Kentucky has grown as a team and after playing each other 3 times, there will be no surprises. Tough enough to beat a time 3 times in a season let alone 4. It showed in the sec champ game.
