Here's a quote of a post that I put up somewhere between the junk that filled this forum topic up to 5 pages. Believe me DavdiDaMan, I appreciate your THOUGHTS and OPINIONS. Actually much of this next quote that I'm reposted is FROM UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU MEANT by a "trap" game. It may not be what you thought, but THIS is what I got out of a "trap" game.
So YES I do appreciate that you had some good thoughts and opinions way back on page 1.
Here it is:

I LOVE THE INFO HERE GUYS.
I love it when people who see these teams play throw in info. The "eye-test" is one of the best ways to gauge a team.
I agree that KU is deep enuf to overcome this line.
From what I get from people calling it a "trap" game is that it's not that Vegas knows something on whether a team is going to cover or not, but you open up the line at 6 and the "sharps" (as they call them) would hammer that line.
If you open it up at -4 KU, KU backers eyes get BIG and start laying tons of money on it to counter-react the "sharps" dropping tons o money on the +6.
By opening at -4 for KU, TONS of money comes in from the "square" bettors, forcing the line up to where they "know" the sharps will be hitting, which, as somebody stated, the line will go back down, where the people who weren't quick enuf with their clickers last night at -4 KU, will be looking to get in when the line drops (plus dumbly buy points IMO) to get back to that great line of -4 KU.
As I have figured out from people who say this is a "trap" bet, it doesn't mean that they are trying to "trap" you, but it's a way of getting MORE money on this game, which, if you understand how the almighty Vegas (and all of the BUSINESSES called sportsbooks) make their money: THE JUICE.
Simple formula: TONS of $ x TAXATION = HUGE PROFIT
little $ x TAXATION = small profit
The almighty Vegas must've taken notes from the US government that takes a third of what we make out of our paychecks and then additional takes about 5% on everything we buy, PLUS charge us all sorts of other taxes such as buying a used car that they already made tax money on.
OK, so Vegas doesn't rape us that much, but you get the picture.
BOL guys
I was all over KU when the -4 line came into existence.
Vegas threw me the "bait" and I'm hooked!
Go KU!
