Overall record of 4-1 (last game lost -1 Ill. Chicago vs. Wichita St.)
Today's pick: Rhode Island +3 over Boston College.
To all of the College hoops followers out there I ask you this: does this spread seem rather askew too you, as much as it did too me?
Covering Duquesne, I am obligated to study and rank every A-10 team, and I started with the Rams as my preseason #1 team. The players they lost served hardly any purpose on this team last year, as most of them were injured. Rhode Island has a returning front court that would make many envy. Led by forward Will Daniels, who averaged 17.4 ppg last year, the the Rams are loaded underneath. Daniels will also take time running the wing as his 3 pt shot is improving more and more. Joe Mbang and forward/center Kahiem Seawright compliment the talented small forward and combine for an average of 12 rebounds a game between the two. In five games this year Seawright and Daniels have combined for an average of 19 rebounds and 25 points with Daniels averaging 18. These guys have been the cream of the crop for this team, but was is scary is their is much more talent to go around. Guard Jimmy Baron has picked up right where he left off last year, averaging 15 ppg a game as well as averaging 10 APG. He gets help from point Parfait Bitee, who is averaging a quiet 8.7 ppg. (I know all of us can laugh at that name-- I ordered that off the McDonald's menu before work this morning). Rhode Island gets something else they weren't sure they would see this year-- bench points. The Rams have sophomore forwards Keith Cothran (12 PPG) and Lamonte Ulmer (8 PPG) that both come off the bench and get the job done. There is no reason why this team that is averaging 78 PPG and pulling down a healthy 43 RPG, and specializing in keeping teams to one shot possessions won't make the NCAA tourney.
Then there is Jared Dudley-less Boston College Eagles. Dudley and Sean Marshall represented everything that team was last year. They kept that team going and pushed everyone around them to excel. That is gone this year... This year the Eagles will have to rely on just one big returning player from last year in Tyrese Rice-- who averaging 17 ppg last year and is currently at 20 PPG in 3 games this year. They have to revolve around youngsters on this team. Sophomore Shamari Spears and freshmen Rakim Sanders and Biko Paris are being relied on heavily to keep this team going, and they are going to get tired with the lack of bench the Eagles have. This is a BIG TIME rebuilding year for BC, and trust me, that 3-0 record lies...they beat Mercer by 19, Florida Atlantic by 6 and New Hampshire by 10--ya, I'm not impressed either. This team is averaging 69 PPG without seeing any team that ranks CLOSE to what URI brings to the table.
Rhode Island is the first true test to BC, and honestly, I think Eagles fans will be making for the exit five minutes into the 2nd half. This isn't a trap spread, this is a Vegas not getting all the facts straight spread. They are hanging onto the fact that BC is at home, and that alone is what makes this spread +3 URI. It will go down, but even if it is URI -3 by tipoff, you best take the Rams.
There is nothing special to say about this one. No flashy stats, just one huge factor: EXPERIENCE. Rhode Island has it all over the place and can run with any team-- especially with youngsters like BC. This game is looking to be a schooling from sage to apprentice.
As always enjoy the pick and gl today! Sincely, Thadrizzle

Also adding Butler -6. No stats here, (it seems everybody on here knows about them and has them circled today already). Just a very sexy pick you can't run past.

Yeah, I put out the best analysis I could from the media notes I got via email this morning, but they just weren't as lengthy or in- depth as the ones I usually receive. Something about the pr's at BC-- I always get the dormant, weak stuff from that program (football/hoops).
No matter, I am looking forward to this game. Should be a nice, easy way to bust the ole bookies.

I just don't understand why this guy continues to keep blasting threads with his absolute nonsense and not get booted.
More power to him, I think it's becoming more and more hysterical this guy's attempts. I hope he tries to cut on me some more, I'm getting a knee- slapping good time.
