Wade out Tuesday for Heat; may miss rest of regular season

Only six regular season games stand between the Miami Heat and the start of their NBA title defense.

But the champs may be without Dwyane Wade until then.

Wade will miss Tuesday's game against Milwaukee and said on Sunday that he wants to return before the end of the regular season, but isn't ruling out missing the final six games before the playoffs.

Counting the game Tuesday against the Bucks, Wade will have missed seven of the past nine games and is still dealing with soreness and swelling in his knee. He has aggravated the injury twice since initially injuring it a month ago.

LeBron James will play tonight and Chris Bosh is a game-time decision.

"The most important thing is to be healthy," Wade said on Sunday to reporters. "When I feel it, I'll get back on the court. Obviously, I want to play but I just got to make sure that I'm right."

The Heat will match the franchise record for wins in a season, 61, with a victory against Milwaukee on Tuesday. Miami is a 6.5-point favorite against the Bucks and the total is 195.5.

"A lot of people think the Heat are just resting," Wade said. "We played a lot of games this year."

In 66 games with Wade in the lineup, the Heat averaged 103.7 points a game. In the 10 games without Wade this season, Miami has averaged 97.9 points a game.

Miami is 8-2 ATS (against the spread) without Wade this season. The total is 4-6.

Here is the Heat's remaining schedule:

April 9 Milwaukee
April 10 @Washington
April 12 Boston
April 14 Chicago
April 15 @Cleveland
April 17 Orlando
