The New England Patriots will sign QB Tim Tebow and expect him to report to minicamp Tuesday, according to numerous online sources.
The news comes just weeks after reports surfaced that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick “hated” Tebow as a player.
The New England mastermind responded by telling ESPN Boston:
“Every single player has strengths and weaknesses but regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible. It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported.”
The Patriots released third-string QB Mike Kafka earlier Monday. However, there is speculation that Tebow could see playing time at tight end and/or special teams. Josh McDaniels, the Patriots’ offensive coordinator, is Tebow’s original NFL mentor from his days in Denver.
CarbonSports.ag posted prop odds on Tebow’s next stop in late April, setting “Signing with an AFC team” and “Signing with a NFC team” as -110 co-favorites.
