Flames remain on roll, take down Predators

Blake Coleman scored in his third straight game and added an assist, and the visiting Calgary Flames beat the Nashville Predators 6-3 on Thursday.

Yegor Sharangovich, Connor Zary and Rasmus Andersson each had a goal and an assist for the Flames, who have won six of their past eight. Dan Vladar made 29 saves for Calgary, which won the season series 2-1.

Filip Forsberg scored his 19th goal of the season for the Predators, who had earned points in three straight games (2-0-1). Juuse Saros stopped 20 of 25 shots over two periods and Kevin Lankinen made 13 saves in the third.

Zary gave the Flames a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 4:45 of the first period, taking a return pass and scoring on a wrist shot through a screen from the bottom of the left circle.

Coleman made it 2-0 at 5:12 when his wrist shot from the left circle deflected off Saros and in.

Nashville answered soon after as Vladar made the initial save on Ryan O'Reilly in front, but Forsberg knocked in the rebound from the slot at 6:09.

Nazem Kadri increased the lead to 3-1 at 7:57 after he stole the puck in the Flames end, entered the zone 2-on-1 with Zary, and scored on a wrist shot from between the circles.

The Predators pulled within 3-2 at 15:50 when Colton Sissons deflected Dante Fabbro's shot from the right point past Vladar from the slot.

Andersson closed out the six-goal first period at 18:43. He took a pass from Zary, cut across the right circle and scored on a backhand shot from the slot to make it 4-2.

Noah Hanifin scored the only goal of the second period, knocking in a pass across the crease from Andrew Mangiapane with two seconds remaining to increase the Calgary lead to 5-2.

Michael McCarron pulled the Predators to within 5-3 at 2:15 of the third period. He sent the puck into the offensive zone from the blue line and it deflected off Vladar's blocker and into the net.

Sharangovich scored on a wrist shot off a Lankinen turnover at 14:04 for the 6-3 final.
