The Philadelphia Eagles vaulted to the top of the NFC East by constructing a season-high three-game winning streak after defeating each team in the lackluster division. The visiting Eagles can wrap up the NFC East title on Sunday should they defeat the New York Giants for the seventh straight time and 11th in their last 12 meetings.

"Things didn't look too good for us obviously just a few weeks ago, but our guys have battled, put ourselves in this position," Philadelphia coach Doug Pederson said. "... We've got to have a good week of preparation, and if we do the things that we're capable of doing and take care of the football and all that, then hopefully we can become the champs." The Eagles prevented Dallas from capturing the division title with a 17-9 victory over the Cowboys last Sunday, with Carson Wentz's 319 yards falling just six shy of his season-best total set in Philadelphia's 23-17 overtime win versus New York on Dec. 9. Saquan Barkley was held in check by the Eagles' third-ranked rush defense with just 66 yards in that contest, but the electric back eclipsed that total in short order in Sunday's 41-35 overtime victory against Washington. Barkley recorded a career-high 189-yard rushing performance and franchise-best 279-yard effort from scrimmage as the Giants won their second consecutive game on the heels of nine straight losses.

ABOUT THE EAGLES (8-7): Three-time Pro Bowl selection Zach Ertz's availability for Sunday's game is in question after the tight end sustained a broken rib against the Cowboys. "He is progressing, getting better. We'll keep monitoring him each day," Pederson said of Ertz, who scored the game-tying touchdown in the waning moments of the fourth quarter against the Giants before finding the end zone in overtime. Rookie Miles Sanders, who was Barkley's understudy at Penn State, has rolled up 328 scrimmage yards and three total touchdowns in his last two games after recording three scores in his previous 13 contests. Jordan Howard, who was Philadelphia's leading rusher before injuring his shoulder, is expected to gain clearance to return to the backfield following a six-game absence.

ABOUT THE GIANTS (4-11): Daniel Jones will get his first crack at Philadelphia after an ankle injury prevented the rookie from taking the field in the first encounter. Jones threw for 352 pass yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Redskins last week to become the first rookie to eclipse 300 yards with five scores and no picks in a single game in NFL history. Safety Antoine Bethea, who recorded 13 of his club-best 104 tackles in the last meeting against the Eagles, was quick to note that he will have plenty of inspiration heading into Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium. "We want to play spoiler," the 35-year-old Bethea said. "We are not going to the playoffs so we definitely want to get this W and knock them out. We don't want anyone celebrating on our field."

1. Philadelphia TE Dallas Goedert recorded career-highs in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (91) last week.

2. New York WR Golden Tate has four touchdowns in his last five games played, but he was limited to just one catch for 11 yards against the Eagles on Dec. 9.
