Something has to give when the streaking Los Angeles Lakers visit the Miami Heat on Friday. The Lakers have ripped off 12 straight road wins - four shy of the franchise record - while the Heat are a sparkling 11-0 on the home floor this season.

Los Angeles opened a five-game road trip with a 96-87 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday to close in on the consecutive away wins mark held by the franchise's 1971-72 NBA championship team. "I'm happy about the win ... but I'm not satisfied with the way we played," forward LeBron James said afterward, alluding to the Lakers blowing a 24-point first-half lead before recovering to win for the 15th time in the past 16 games. "We have to be a lot better." Miami is coming off a wild 135-121 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday that saw forward Duncan Robinson match the franchise record of 10 3-pointers and rookie guard Kendrick Nunn score a season-high 36 points while center Bam Adebayo and swingman Jimmy Butler recorded triple-doubles. "I don't think anybody really thought the Heat were relevant, we're making people watch us," said Adebayo after the Heat scored the final six points of regulation and the first 16 of overtime to stay unbeaten at home.

ABOUT THE LAKERS (22-3): James recorded his sixth triple-double of the season in the win over Orlando as he contributed 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. "LeBron was great, especially down the stretch," Los Angeles coach Frank Vogel told reporters. "He quarterbacks the action for us, keeping the lead at a healthy distance and making plays on the defensive end." Power forward Anthony Davis tallied just 16 points on 6-of-20 shooting after scoring a season-high 50 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the previous contest.

ABOUT THE HEAT (18-6): Robinson scored a career-best 34 points versus Atlanta while matching the 3-pointer mark shared by Brian Shaw and Mario Chalmers while Adebayo was superb with career highs of 30 points and 11 assists to go with 11 rebounds. Butler collected a career-best 18 rebounds while also contributing 20 points and 10 assists and he was beaming about the team's tenacity after the comeback win. "Everybody in this locker room has a confidence that they're the best player on the floor at any given time," Butler said. "Man, when you've got guys who think like that, nothing's ever over."
