If you are a fan of Boise and their story, you should root for them to somehow play Bama in a BCS game. I'd much rather see them kick the shit out of the SEC's princess than beat Oregon, Ohio St, Nebraska, etc for the BCS title.
They don't want to see Bama or any other SEC team. They would be completely humiliated. The powers that be know this and will wisely do everything they can to avoid a mismatch of this proportion to take place on the biggest college football stage of the season.

growing up in Big ten country, and following the big ten for decades,if you think Ohio State would crush Boise St this year, you are way off base. Boise would not only play Ohio St close on a neutral field,I think they would beat them. All the majority of the Boise backers are just asking ,if the finish unbeaten again for the 2nd cons. year, give them the shot they deserve. If they get beat,so be it,would it be any worse than the beat-downs Ohio St took from Flor & LSU,,or Okl took from USC,Neb took fromMia,,Flor took from Neb and on and on. They deserve a shot if they go unbeaten. Let the game play out on the field. If you ask the big boys to be truthfull,I bet alot wouldnt want to play Boise this year or last year.
Getting a shot at the national championship has be earned, not given away like a door prize, and Boise cannot earn that right with the absurd schedule they play. Vandy would be undefeated too if they played in the WAC.

They would probably lose to Georgia.

Bama gives up 13 points a game, and Boise would be lucky to get that. Regardless, there is no way on God's green earth they score 20.

You will come around to understanding the wisdom of everything else I'm telling you too. 2* players do not consistently beat 4 & 5-star athletes on a consistent basis no matter bad you may want them to, or how fuzzy it makes you feel inside.

Exactly. How many top 25 teams has Boise beaten? Answer: ZERO.
And if people think they will just be able to flip some sort of a switch from playing candy-ass competition to playing at the speed necessary to beat a SEC champion is a complete utter moron.

I did not rank them 80th, professional ranking sevices rank them 80th (actual the average of last 5 recruiting classes is 82).
You can have all the talent in the world, but if you dont know what to do with it (USC,LSU,Florida etc) it doesnt matter. Peterson can make a 2 star recruit play better than a 4 star recruit by scheming plays and motivation. SEC is and has been a "good" conference, but if any of these teams had a coach like Boise has, they might not ever lose.

I'm just saying, i will not be impressed until Boise plays in a conference with top 25 talent, until then, they will be your cinderalla school.........there is a reason why every coach will not vote them higher than 3rd or 4th......It is up to the AD to make the move, until then Boise doesn't deserve it until they have the every week challenge that a Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, or even a Pac - 10 and ACC school would face.
Look at Alabama, they all the sudden are not the top team because they lost a tough confernce battle......how many of those tough confernce battles has Boise faced?
I am not knocking Boise, I love it...they look sweet....but they need to move themselves in a better situation if they want to be a national title contender.

Of course a 2* player can outplay a 4* player. It happens all the time. But 22 2* players are not going to consistently outplay 22 4 & 5-star players.
It is very simple. Boise does not have the talent or depth of talent to compete with top teir teams week in and week out. You not only have to have good 1st string players, you also have to have good 2nd and 3rd string players as well. Anyone who thinks Boise is equipped to handle the rigors of a big-boy schedule is nuts!!!
Chris Peterson is an outstanding coach, but he would not be the best coach in the SEC. He would learn pretty quickly too that much of what he does offensively in the WAC won't fly against SEC defenses.
Urban Meyer was able to run his Utah offense at Florida but only because he had an extraorinary palyer like Tim Tebow. Now that Tebow is gone we see that scheme not being nearly as effective, because that scheme is dependant upon the QB being a legitimate running threat.
In my write-up for the national championship game I specifically said that if Texas insists upon running little Colt McCoy into Bama's defensive line like he does in the Big 12, he likely won't finish the game. The very first time he tried it, he got knocked out of the game. It's a different world in the SEC.
I really like Peterson. The guy can coach, and I think he could be a successful SEC coach. If I were LSU I'd be begging him to come. But to be successful in the SEC he would have to adjust to the speed and size of SEC defenses.

GT, Boise worshippers have had 6 pages to formulate a meritorious argument on behalf of Boise, and they have made almost no attempt to do so. And the reason they haven't is because there are no facts that support their argument.
Their best argument are bringing up games from yester-year, but when you counter with three games of WAC teams playing SEC teams (three games they lost by 14 TDs) from yester-year, they cry foul.
You gotta hand it these guys. They are fiesty.
