totally disagree, 1st halfs are no gimmes neither are teasers...
I make plays I know the risk involed, and im willing to take that risk...
very rare wk1 for a team to cover half time and not the full game, for wk1 only...
well ..i disagree.... have been nailing it with teasers .... and or 1h plays --- any way if we all could forsee the future ...what the hell weve been doing here..... and of course..there are teams that like to come out crushing the 1h and then cruise on the 2 and on the other side some that like to pamper opposition in the 1 and run on their throats on 2h ---- it depends it depends .... and anything is a gimme

ok, not sure wht u disagree with, im only talking wk 1, were is ur examples? show me 3 games were the 1st half lines that hit and the full game didnt cover wk1...
...yeah thats rite, show me some work for a change...

With regard to USC, what is the relationship between Kifffin and Chow. Does Kiffin have a personal reason to win say 63-7. Or due to USC's lack of overall depth and in particular at the RB position, will he cut it off at say 45-0, leaving the possibility open for a back door cover in chump time. I am not afraid of Chow's innovation. This is talent v lack thereof. But, if Kiffin and Chow are still buddies, will he call the dogs off, or will he make this statement game that SC is back and Barkley deserves the Heisman??? Thanks in advance!
forgot about this....
here it is.....some mere speculation....but believed by MANY...to be true
Pete C....was resentful....of the credit Norm C got for building Trojan O ....making several changes to the O himself....after year 1....more than once saying..."this ain't BYU".....stuff like that.....NC not appreciating the disruptions of course....
enter Lane K (son of Pete C's mentor Monte K)....who became big buddies with PC....and supposedly......(shocked?)....further undermined the PC/NC relationship.....
So much so...that after the 2004 National Title year ...Pete publicly talked of making NC the assistant head coach (a demotion) .....and rumors were that Sark might be brought back to run the O.....(with Pete's boy LK) 'bout this time NC was offered the job with the Titans....and he took it
Then.....when LK took the USC job....it was with the understanding...that if they could get NC to return....LK would "allow" NC to call plays..... *BUT....soon after NC was made a huge offer (1.5 M or so)....LK went on local radio....saying that he in fact.....expected to call plays himself.....so NC said fuck that....and stayed at UCLA....
* it was reported they (LK and NC) had many very heated arguments....included having to be separated in a coaches meeting....> gimme Lane ITD.....
Problem here is (USC running it up)....is that Norm is HIGHLY respected by USC AD Pat Haden....and I wouldn't be surprised at all.... if orders are made to not embarrass Norm .....esp in front of many Trojan fans that still love the guy..........
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

wow, cant believe i read all that, good stuff...
...i agree with 99% totally...since we are speculating...
...LK as a (HC)never took orders from no one, so it would be funny if he got the orders from Haden, ignored them, an ran it up anyway...
...i heard many fat rich alums with their wives talking about this game being a masacare, like they expect it to happen...

Chow grew up in Honolulu and is beloved on the island. But the school lost momentum when it hired a veteran assistant (Greg McMackin) following the departure of June Jones, and it’s taking a gamble of sorts by hiring Chow, who will be a 65-year-old first-time head coach. Truth be told, he hasn’t overseen an exciting offense since his days at USC (2001-04).

1.- week one is nice to lay chalk with power houses against patsys
2.- the best bet here... and avoid back door---if ur chikin enough to lay wood...is...to play 1st-H and/or 10-14 pt teasers
i respectfully disagree on point #2....this is the first game...yes, they have motivation, and if the O is clicking then yes, an easy cover...but that clock seems to run fast in that first half. there is normally a 2-3 point premium for those folks who take the 1st half dogs...i have some close calls playing 1st half's in the 1st game against a patsy or even losses...like Texas, in 2009 when the I was actually good...
I think the better strategy is pick the powerhouse v.patsy in week 1 full game, where one believe's the powerhouse has the motivation to cover or show off in front of the home fans in week 1. in addition to talent differential, powerhouses will continue to score with 2nd and 3rd teamers because those guys are more talented than the 1st team of the patsy. though the patsys will keep fighting, they will eventually be worn down, and the powerhouse will keep scoring...
in essense, i advocate full games against patsy's in week 1. generally, at least in week 1, the patsy's don't BD cover....that can not be said for some meaningless Bama v. W Kentucky mismatch in mid-season. in that case a first half cover will probably be more likely than a 2nd with an outright or BD cover...

can the entire top 10 NOT cover some absurd percentage like it did last
year? I don't think I can take another year of squares owning bc they
max stanford, alabama, et al every week...
LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Georgia most likely no plays for me.

last time they played LSU didnt even cover the 41, so why would it be higher?
lsu was shutout their last game, have a new QB....
they lost their best wr to the draft(he was the only wr to shake any kind of coverage).
so why 45?
last time i saw that # USC vs Idaho -46...
that usc team was way more loaded than this LSU team...
New QB is a large upgrade so it shouldn't be under the 'con' list. An having a new QB would subvert the albeit minimal relevance of them getting shutout last game, ya know, because they have a vastly different offense. Also I can assure you that the ability of LSU's WRs to 'shake the coverage' factored minimally in this UNT spread...
I guess it's easy for me to say once the line is out but regardless of the line those points are largely impertinent

Very good info, bookie. I have to think that LK doesn't give a fuck...he can find another job...the next great thing is already on his radar. He's more concerned about the guys he recruits and coaches...the hell with the rest of this shit.
