Recap: 49ers 17, Raiders 9

Alex Smith threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half and the San Francisco 49ers edged the visiting Oakland Raiders 17-9 for their first win of the season Sunday.

Smith hit Michael Crabtree down the middle of the field for a 32-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the third quarter to give San Francisco (1-5) its first lead of the game at 10-6.

After a field goal by the Raiders, Smith connected with Vernon Davis and the tight end bulled his way into the end zone from 17 yards to extend the lead to 17-9.

Frank Gore’s 64-yard run set up Davis’ touchdown. Gore finished with 149 yards on 25 carries.

Sebastian Janikowski supplied all the Oakland offense. He booted a pair of field goals in the first half as the Raiders (2-4) took a 6-0 lead and added a 40-yarder with 8:21 to play in the game.

Oakland’s Jason Campbell was held to 83 yards passing on the day. He finished 8 for 21 with two interceptions and a passer rating of 10.7.
