Clemson remains offensively-challenged, but the Tigers did enough on Saturday to upend visiting North Carolina State.

Tigers (5-4, 3-3 ACC) running back Jamie Harper accounted for the game-winner when he plunged in from four yards out to provide a 14-13 lead with 6:18 left. Harper, who was playing for the injured Andre Ellington (toe), finished with 98 total yards (64 rushing, 34 receiving) to pace the hosts to the upset victory.

Clemson struggled offensively in the first half as costly penalties and mistakes thwarted the few opportunities it enjoyed.

The Tigers finally scored their first offensive touchdown in seven quarters when Kyle Parker found DeAndre Hopkins from 12 yards out with 2:44 left in the third period to cut the N.C. State lead to 10-7. It was Clemson’s first offensive touchdown since the third quarter of its game against Georgia Tech on Oct. 23.
