The payout totaled $1,064,095.

Key Takeaways

  • An anonymous player has won a jackpot of over $1 million by playing $1 Million Dragon Link.
  • The gambler played at $25 per spin when they hit the lucky win.
  • The win comes as the Las Vegas casino scene changes, with Poker Palace Casino closing after 50 years.

The Dragon Link series, produced by Aristocrat Gaming, is a popular progressive jackpot slot commonly seen in high-limit areas on the Strip. Aristocrat Gaming recently bolstered its online game library with the launch of Jackpot Carnival Buffalo Online

This latest win comes amid a mixed financial period for the Las Vegas casino market, as some operators face revenue dips and lowered expectations for the summer months.

Las Vegas’ Poker Palace Casino to close after 50 years

A sign of uncertain times in Vegas is the news that the Poker Palace Casino in North Las Vegas will shut its doors on Oct. 1, causing the loss of 126 jobs. According to reports, no buyer or future development plans for the building have been disclosed.

Poker Palace has operated under its current name since 1974, but it was originally opened as Bunny’s Bar in 1951. It eventually evolved into a full-service casino with slots, table games, poker, bingo, and sports betting, along with its in-house diner, Maddy’s Paddy Cafe.

Caesars reports Las Vegas revenue dip

Meanwhile, Caesars Entertainment, one of the largest casino operators on the Strip, reported a drop in revenue from its Las Vegas sites in the second quarter of 2025.

The company saw a 3.7% drop in net revenue from Las Vegas properties year-over-year, to $1.05 billion, compared to $1.1 billion in Q2 of 2024. Net income fell nearly 21% to $212 million.

CEO Tom Reeg pointed to disappointing returns for May and June. He attributed the year-over-year downturn partly to the absence of major entertainment residencies in Las Vegas like Adele and Garth Brooks, who had boosted non-gaming revenue last year.

Caesars is not the only Vegas operator to feel the pinch. Domestic air travel to the city is down nearly 4%, international visits have dropped by double digits, hotel occupancy is under 70%, and gaming revenue has declined for four months.
