New York bettors had a short reprieve from getting dominated by the Empire State’s online sportsbooks.

Key Takeaways

  • New York’s online sportsbooks posted a combined 13.5% win rate for the week.

  • Profits were the highest since mid-January.

  • DraftKings and FanDuel won back over 14% each.

A week after a run of four consecutive double-digit win rates ended to start May, the eight mobile operators destroyed New Yorkers with a 13.5% hold during the week ending May 10. The New York State Gaming Commission reported on Friday that sportsbooks generated $69.4 million in revenue during the period, a 51.8% week-over-week increase.

Operators hauled in their biggest week of profits since mid-January, feasting during the second round of the NBA and NHL playoffs, as well as a busy MLB slate.

New Yorkers wagered $513.5 million during their difficult week. The handle was up 4% from the previous week and was just the second over $500 million in the last five periods.

Operators have won back at least 10% of the handle in six of the last eight weeks dating back to the first round of March Madness.

Big boys win biggest

FanDuel produced its most profitable week in 17 periods, winning back a state-best $27.2 million on a $187-million handle. The 14.5% hold was FanDuel’s fifth double-digit win rate in the last six weeks.

However, its latest hold wasn’t the best in New York sports betting for the week. DratKings produced a 14.9% hold on a $175.3-million handle. The operator’s $26.1 million in gross revenue is DraftKings’ second over $25 million since November 2025.

The week ending May 10 was also second with a handle of at least $175 million over the last seven periods.

Huge profits continue

Fanatics saw a more than $4-million week-over-week wagering increase with its $58.1-million handle, and the operator won back 11.2% to produce its best weekly revenue since early January.

BetMGM matched its previous week’s gross revenue of $3.7 million on a $35.4-million handle, $6 million lower than the previous week, while Caesars won back 9.8% on a $33.1-million handle.

BetRivers and theScore Bet both generated over $10 million in wagers for the week, but only theScore Bet reached a double-digit win rate. Bally Bet won back 12.7% on a $3.3-million handle.
