An anonymous gambling integrity hotline is coming to Nebraska.
The Cornhusker State is taking a proactive approach to protect against questionable and concerning activities in the legal sports betting and gaming industry by becoming the first state to partner with RealResponse, which offers anonymous communications and support in real time.
The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission encourages the public to use this service to anonymously report any issues related to horse racing, casino gaming at racetracks, and sports betting activities.
“With legalized sports wagering and gambling expanding rapidly from state to state, there is a heightened need to guard against impropriety and to protect those vulnerable to increased criticism and threats,” David Chadwick, founder and CEO of RealResponse, said in a release. “We commend the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission for ensuring the public and others can share betting-related concerns anonymously and safely through the RealResponse platform.”
RealResponse works with a community of two million participants, including coaches, athletes, and administrators across college and professional sports, governing bodies, and integrity units.
Wagering in Nebraska
Sports betting currently doesn’t have a large presence in the Cornhusker State.
While in-person sports wagering and casino gaming at state-designated horse racing tracks became legal in 2020, mobile sports betting sites are not active in Nebraska.
However, a retail sportsbook is slated to operate inside the WarHorse Casino Omaha in 2024 through technology company Kambi, and wagers are being accepted at the property’s temporary location.
Online sports betting, meanwhile, is active in neighboring states Colorado, Iowa, and Kansas. There is currently no push to add mobile wagering in Nebraska.
