Online casino operator SkillOnNet and slot game developer Habanero have announced that their partnership has expanded into the Brazilian iGaming market.

Key Takeaways

  • Habanero’s games will now be available on SkillOnNet’s Brazilian sites
  • Brazil’s online gaming market could be worth $6.3 billion by 2028
  • Agreement expands their 2024 partnership into Brazil

The two companies signed a deal in 2024, which gave players at SkillOnNet’s portfolio of online casino sites access to Habanero’s games. That partnership has now expanded to include SkillOnNet’s two new Brazilian iGaming platforms, PlayUZU.bet.br and BacanaPlay.bet.br.

The extended arrangement targets one of the fastest-growing iGaming and betting markets in the world. The newly regulated Brazilian sector, which launched on Jan. 1, 2025, is expected to generate $2.9 billion in revenue this year, rising to as much as $6.3 billion by 2028.

“We are extremely pleased to extend our partnership with SkillOnNet to Brazil and further boost our collaboration. As one of the most anticipated market openings in a number of years, it has been a key focus for us,” said the Head of Business Development at Habanero, Arcangelo Lonoce, in a statement marking the deal.

SkillOnNet was one of the first casino site operators to secure a license for the new Brazilian market and launched PlayUZU.bet.br and BacanaPlay.bet.br earlier in the year. Players on those sites will now be able to play Habanero’s range of slot games, including Hot Hot Fruit, Love & Riches Eldorado, and the company’s popular progressive, Jackpot Race.

"Brazil represents one of the most exciting and dynamic opportunities in the global iGaming landscape. Partnering with Habanero in this market allows us to deliver world-class content to a rapidly growing audience hungry for premium gaming experiences. This move reflects our long-term commitment to localized growth and best-in-class entertainment," Jani Kontturi, Head of Games at SkillOnNet, added.

Flutter closes Brazilian acquisition deal

SkillOnNet is not the only operator that has expanded into the Brazilian-regulated market. Flutter Entertainment, the global gambling operator and owner of U.S. sportsbook FanDuel, has bought a stake in NSX Group, a leading Brazilian sports betting operator, giving it a foothold in the fast-growing market.

The 56% stake in NSX Group was purchased for a cash consideration of around $350 million. It will give NSX Group access to Flutter’s pricing and risk management platforms, expertise, and wider betting content. In return, Flutter will gain access to the Brazilian sector. It also estimates the acquisition will produce $220 million in additional revenue in 2025.

NSX entered the Brazilian betting industry in 2021 and by 2023 was the fourth biggest operator in the country.
