Starting with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, FanDuel will offer a bevy of new PGA Tour live legal sports betting opportunities thanks to the integration of IMG ARENA's Golf Event Centre.

FanDuel — one of the leading online sports betting sites — will launch new live golf betting options, including longest drive, closest to the pin, number of birdies, and other stroke-by-stroke bets. To celebrate, FanDuel is offering bettors a 25% profit boost on any bet placed on a live market during the August 10 PGA tournament.

“As an Official Betting Operator of the PGA TOUR, we’re continually looking for innovative ways to elevate the golf betting experience on our platform for fans during their favorite tournaments,” said Christian Genetski, FanDuel Group President. “By integrating IMG ARENA’s Golf Event Centre into our sportsbook platform, we can offer fans access to a robust catalog of live markets that will give them new ways to engage with the sport on every hole.”

“FanDuel’s investment in creating a best-in-class gold experience for its customers shows their continued commitment to the sport of golf, said Jordan Spieth, golf pro and FanDuel Ambassador. “I’m proud to partner with an organization that looks for new ways to bring fans closer to our game.”

Microbetting continues to grow

IMG ARENA is part of the Endeavor network. Its sports betting and technology hub delivers live streaming and data feeds for more than 65,000 sporting events annually. In 2018, IMG ARENA became the PGA TOUR’s official data distributor.

bet365 was one of the first online sports betting operators to offer IMG ARENA Gold Event Centre’s in-play betting features with a soft launch back in 2020. Since then, IMG ARENA’s Golf Event Centre partnered with BetMGM back in 2021 and with PointsBet last December.

It’s no surprise that IMG ARENA’s products are finding traction with online sportsbooks. Microbetting — across all sports — is a potential growth area for the industry. Whether it’s on the outcome of Jordan Spieth’s next put or Shohei Ohtani’s next pitch, microbets keep fans engaged. It also pulls in a lot more action, presenting an opportunity for the competitive landscape of legal sports betting.

SimpleBet Technology recently announced that its NBA microbetting markets grew 350% year-over-year. Meanwhile, Andrew Bimson, Sportradar COO North America, said microbetting is the fastest-growing segment of in-play betting. Speaking at the 2023 SBC Summit North America he estimated that microbetting could account for $20 billion worth of bets by 2027.
