An investigation from Bloomberg has revealed that Drake wins on Stake four times as much as the average player during his livestreams.

Key Takeaways

  • A Bloomberg investigation has revealed that Drake wins at a four-times higher average than a typical player on the cryptocurrency sweeps casino, Stake.

  • The investigation included examining over 1,500 hours of footage from 25 live streamers.

  • Stake responded that the report was “categorically incorrect.”

Drake frequently livestreams his play on the cryptocurrency sweepstakes casino, and a Bloomberg report showed that when he played slot machine games created by Easygo, the company behind Stake, he won at a rate four times higher than average users.

Additionally, when he played on other platforms, his win rate was on par with that of average players.

According to the co-founder of Stake, Ed Craven, company influencers do not have betting gambling odds, stating in a blog post, “Despite certain widespread notions of odds being rigged in some people’s favor or money not being real, we have no direct control of the odds of any of our games.”

However, the report showed that, after examining 1,500 hours of footage from 25 players, Drake won twice as often as the next luckiest player, though Stake responded that the report was “categorically incorrect.”

Sweepstakes casinos have been facing backlash across the U.S., with Stake facing several lawsuits, including in Virginia. Additionally, a number of states have enacted legislation to ban sweepstakes casinos from operating in their jurisdictions, with New York Governor Kathy Hochul signing anti-sweeps legislation into law in December last year.

Drake loses $1 million betting on the Patriots in Super Bowl LX

While Drake has been getting lucky playing Stake slots, during the Super Bowl his bet on the New England Patriots did not pay out, resulting in a $1 million loss.

Revealing his $1 million bet in an Instagram post on Saturday, Feb. 7, he told followers to “Bet against me if you dare” while tagging Stake. The post revealed that if the Patriots had won, the payout would have totaled $2.95 million, but the rapper walked away empty-handed after the Seattle Seahawks won 29-13.

Drake’s betting habits have been a talking point for a while, with the term the “Drake Curse” being coined as people theorize that the rapper jinxes any athlete or team he bets on.

While Drake did not make a public Super Bowl bet last year, the year before, he placed a $1.15 million bet on the Chiefs winning the game over the San Fransico 49ers, which did cash.

However, he has had a number of public bets fail to cash in over the years, including losing $1 million on the Toronto Maple Leafs, $800,000 on the NBA Finals, and placing a losing bet on Jannik Sinner to win the US Open.
