Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant continues to make big plays following a highly decorated career with the Dallas Cowboys, hitting a 13-leg men’s college basketball parlay to win over $416,000.

Bryant took to X and posted his massive win, celebrating after the Nevada Wolf Pack mounted a late comeback on the road against UNLV. They entered the game with +105 moneyline odds, making them underdogs on the final leg of Bryant’s college basketball parlay. The wideout staked $767.68, which returned an exact total of $416,970.35.

Breaking down the winning parlay

Bryant wagered on the BetMGM Sportsbook mobile app and uploaded screenshots and video of his winning parlay to X. This gave us a full look at his massive payday, which was strictly placed on men’s college basketball game moneyline and spread odds.

The video includes another 15-leg college basketball parlay, this time mixed with spread and moneyline odds, that missed by one leg after Washington lost outright to California as a -300 moneyline favorite. Bryant claims he would have won $1 million without the Huskies losing to the Golden Bears at home. He quickly moved on from this bad beat by referencing Nevada helping his other ticket settle as a winner.

The 13-leg parlay that won featured a mixture of moneyline and spread wagers. These included Michigan State -350 moneyline odds, Princeton -10.5, Ole Miss -200, San Francisco -550, Seattle University +110, Montana -9.5, Arizona -18.5, Oregon -300, Colorado -130, Santa Clara -275, Wyoming +105, Pepperdine -250, and Nevada +105.

Sportsbook exposure

Online sportsbook operators can gain a lot of exposure when a winning parlay placed on their platform goes viral. Bryant indicated through his photos and videos on X that he was wagering on the BetMGM mobile app, although he’s reportedly working on a sponsorship with a major online sportsbook with an upcoming meeting scheduled following his major parlay win.

We’ve seen DraftKings benefit from another viral parlay during the 2023 NFL season. A bettor placed a 14-leg anytime touchdown scorer parlay with a $5 stake and wound up winning $489,383.01. As a result of the winning parlay being placed on DraftKings, it generated a 57% increase in revenue and hit its highest weekly betting handle at $218 million in New York.
