Global gambling giant bet365 announced on Monday the launch of its sportsbook and online casino platforms in Pennsylvania.

After being given the green light from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the bet365 Sportsbook is now available in 11 states, while bet365 Casino is available in two iGaming states – Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

bet365 launched in Pennsylvania through a partnership with Presque Isle Downs and Casino, owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated. bet365 first announced its market access deal with Presque Isle Downs Casino around 18 months prior.

“We are looking forward to our partnership with the world’s largest online gambling company," Gary Hendricks, VP and GM of Presque Isle Downs & Casino, said in a press release. "bet365 will bring a unique betting experience for online gamblers throughout all of Pennsylvania.”

“We enthusiastically welcome new and eligible bettors from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and the entire Keystone State as they join the bet365 experience, which features market leading offerings like amazing Bet Boosts, the fastest In-Game product, and unique Same Game Parlays,” said a bet365 spokesperson in the press release.

bet365 first launched in the United States in 2018 when it debuted in New Jersey in partnership with Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Since then, the company has expanded its footprint into Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Indiana, Arizona, and North Carolina.

To launch in each of the states, bet365 first had to receive approval from their relevant gambling authorities. Before launching in Pennsylvania, bet365 underwent a soft launch for testing by the PGCB, during which staff carried out tests to ensure the platform complied with the state’s gambling regulations.

Since joining Covers, he's turned his sharp eye (and sharper keyboard) toward everything happening in the fast-moving world of online gambling. Whether it's new state launches, the latest twists in regulation, or what the big operators and game providers are cooking up next, Ziv breaks it all down with clarity, context, and just the right amount of snark. He covers the business side of betting, from affiliate trends and revenue reports to the tech powering your favorite slots. His motto in writing is “let’s make it make sense without putting you to sleep.”

When he’s not tracking gambling legislation or looking for the next breaking story, Ziv is living and dying with every pitch and play from his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. As a Pitt graduate, it’s a city loyalty forged in heartbreak, but one he wouldn’t trade for anything, except maybe a few more playoff wins.

When away from the keyboard, Ziv loves to hit the road and soak up the energy of casinos. Whether strolling the neon jungle called the Vegas Strip, or wandering into a smoky riverboat casino in the Midwest, Ziv’s in his element. He’s the guy chatting with players, blackjack dealers, and asking pit bosses way too many questions, all in the name of “research,” of course. The casino floor isn’t just his workplace, it’s a weird and wonderful ecosystem of flashing lights, wild characters, and pure sensory overload, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
