Who are you? Please don't post unrecorded plays as evidence. That really shows nobody anything, nor does the arbitrary amount that isn't recorded in Units help us in any significant way. Take a look to see how experienced cappers post plays. Some do write-ups (short or long); some let their posted records and plays do the talking. Find a method that works that isn't the atrocity of the post/thread.

seems very farfetched considering the game was handily in detroit's favor until a sloppy game winner by chalmers. you really think books can account for a last minute game winner? please re-analyze your method of capping games.

Charlotte Hornets -5.5:
Charlotte got surprised last night against a Minnesota team without their two stars (Wiggins and Rubio). It looked like they didn't expect the Wolves to come out hard, but they recovered quickly. After being down by double-digits in the first, they came back to just about tie it going into the second quarter. From there, they controlled the rest of the game. And their starters weren't shooting particularly well (Kemba, Big Al). Even still, their offense flows great and they keep it going when the second unit comes in. Lin, Zeller, Kaminsky, Lamb have all contributed quality minutes this season at a more consistent level than the Knicks' bench. They have shown they can light it up (Lin/Lamb) as well. In their two games at home they have blown out the Bulls and stayed competitive with a tough Atlanta team. I think they will continue rolling tonight against a shaky Knicks team. Moving to the Knicks. They robbed a victory from the Raptors last night after a controversial call. They scored well on the Raptors, an excellent defensive team. But I think it was fool's gold. The Raptors were in control if not for an uncharacteristic scoring display by both Lance Thomas and Langston Galloway. Melo had something like 19 points in the first half, and finished with 25? On 10/23 shooting. That's not the necessary efficiency needed in today's league. Let's not forget the Knicks' last four games: Losses to Cleveland, San Antonio, and Milwaukee. Their only win coming in against the even worse Lakers. It seems the Knicks are up-and-down this season. They've played great (against Washington and even the San Antonio and Cleveland games were competitive until late), but I still see a few inconsistencies. I don't think their bench will pack the same punch as last night. Derrick Williams has come back to Earth in the past two games, and I look for the same regression with Thomas and Galloway tonight. Other leans: Mil +3.5 Kings -1.5 Spurs -7 BOL

4-1 so far with my Magic Pick this season. Looking to continue tonight!
Today I have another underdog (I love me a good spot for an underdog to cover/win SU) - Brooklyn Nets +8.5 (2U): The Brooklyn Nets have looked awful this season. They have played really carelessly, and it has cost them thus far. But, if there is any hope for them, it is that they are a grizzled veteran team. Jarrett Jack, Joe Johnson, Thad Young, and Brook Lopez are all solid players in their own right. Jack shouldn't be starting for any team, but I digress. They have solid young players like Shane Larkin and Wayne Ellington and (a bit older) Andrea Bargnani. Hollis-Jefferson seems to give the effort as well on both ends of the floor, even if sometimes it looks sloppy. But I see a chance here for the Nets to steal their first win of the season. They got close against the Bucks in Brooklyn, but came up empty in the fourth. I think they are motivated to get a win because they (and the Lakers) are currently the laughing stock of the NBA. These players are still good enough to go light it up every so often. This is that chance. Against an Atlanta Hawks team who seem to be stealing wins every where they go. Their last 3 games have been decided by 6 points or less. The Hawks will come home to play, and think they have an easy game against the lowly Nets. But the Nets will be ready for this game. I see a determined, focused veteran squad coming in and competing with a team that will take them too lightly at first. Brooklyn may end up losing the game if the Hawks catch on and turn it on sooner instead of later, but it will be competitive either way. Brooklyn covers +8.5. Other plays: Spurs -3.5 Orlando +8.5 Jazz -6 Bostons -2.5 BOL

Missed yesterday with the Knicks. They completely melted down in the fourth, oh well.
Today I am going to be playing - Toronto Raptors -1.5: I was skeptical of this Toronto Raptors team, who played horribly in last year's playoffs. I am still not sure Casey is a coach that you can contend with, but he is doing decently so far. The addition of Carroll has been huge, giving them a much needed two-way player on the wing to compliment DeRozan. Kyle Lowry is playing fantastically and managing the games well. I do not think the corpse of Deron Williams can contain him. Corey Joseph off the bench is huge, as they get a proven youngster who can play. He can run circles around a slew of Maverick guards (Barea, Harris, Felton) who almost instictively play little defense. Valanciunas will feast against a shoddy Dallas frontcourt. Ultimately, I don't think Dirk can shoot the Mavs to victory like he did against the Lakers. Parsons and Matthews still look a bit rusty and not up-to-speed to hang well with DeRozan and Carroll. I like the Raptors to win by 6-8 tonight. My other play of the night is BIG on the Andre Dummond points player prop for tonight. I am still waiting on the line to be released by my book; I will update when I can. Other leans for tonight: Pacers +4.5 Bulls -4 Pelicans -4 BOL

Didn't get a chance to post my other plays, so I won't count those. Knicks fell apart in the fourth in an otherwise competitive game.

Up 2U from yesterday again, hitting ATL -1.5.
My pick for today is - New York Knicks +7.5 2U: I really like big home dogs, especially when a team is not being adequately credited. I see that situation going on here, so I jumped on the line early. The Spurs surrendered 5.5 points to the hosting Celtics last night, but are giving up a whopping 7.5 to the Knicks, in the second half of a back-to-back, against a Knick team that is coming off a huge victory against an Eastern Conference playoff team (I know, not hard to accomplish, but still). We saw what the Knicks can do when Melo is integrated and clicking in the offense, and I think we see much of the same here. I do think the Spurs will dictate the pace, and maybe play slower than the Knicks did against the Wizards, but the game will be competitive. I like the balance of the veteran Knick starters (save Porzingis) who can play a slower pace, and the bench that comes in and pushes the tempo. The second unit will be key in this game - if they outplay the Spurs' bench they will be in good shape. Furthermore, I think the minutes could be a problem for older Spurs this game (Duncan, Ginobili, Parker), and we could see them relying more heavily on West and McCallum. These players have not gotten very many minutes this season and will have trouble getting acclimated to the intensity with which Knicks are playing with. Other leans for today: Houston +4 Milwaukee ML even Cavs -13.5 Blazers +5 GSW/Grizzlies UNDER 200.5 Clippers -9 BOL

Agreed. Have 1U on Kobe under 19.5 points. Seems like easy money the way he's playing.

Hit again! +2U.
The game was a lot closer than I expected. A blown 3rd quarter away from keeping a better handle on the game by the Hawks. Still, the better team won at the end. Other plays: Milwaukee ML +200 OKC -12.5 Bulls -8 Mavs/Lakers UNDER 213 BOL

Good morning,
Up 2U after hitting my second top pick last night - New York Knicks +7.5
Today my top pick will be Atlanta -1.5 for 2U: Atlanta is barely escaped their home court with a win against this same Charlotte team. They ended the game 97-94, not enough to cover the spread. But this score is wholly misleading. Let's remember that Atlanta had been cruising in the second half of the Charlotte game, and sort of lost their fire from their previous game against the Knicks. But they are totally talented enough, when committed, to hang with the best in the league. The Hawks see both snipeshooter Kyle Korver back into the lineup, and defensive stalwart Thabo Sefolosha. Their spacing will be much better this time around, and will give Millsap even more room to operate. He was the catalyst in game one, stuffing the stat sheet in the most Hawks-way possible. He is much too quick and skilled for Cody Zeller or Marvin Williams to bug him more than just a little bit. Horford does a great job on Big Al. Kemba is highly inefficient shooting the ball, and the Hawks will capitalize on those mistakes tonight. Kemba, Lin, Lamb, and Batum is the backout rotation for the Hornets. Maybe Brian Roberts. And only Batum is any good as a defense, but the Hawks' ball-movement will prove to be too much for him to combat alone. If Bazemore and Schroder can go back to their reserve roles and continue to produce when they're given the opportunity, I see the Hawks winning this handily. I think the Hawks roll as they did for much of two nights ago, but will be committed to better fourth quarter closing. I see a 7-9 point win for the Hawks. Other Leans: Milwaukee +7 Spurs -5.5 Bulls -7.5 OKC -12 Lakers +3 |

Hit on my big Orlando pick yesterday for 5U. Lost Boston, Philadelphia, Hawks for 1U each. Hit Golden State and Kings for 1U each.
+4U
Today I have another dog - NY Knicks +7.5, 2U The Knicks ran into a really talented, determined Altanta Hawks team on Thursday, and may have bit off more than they can chew. Tonight I see them in a situation against a team that looks lost - the Washington Wizards. They escaped with a win in Orlando on Wednesday, and managed a huge comeback against the Bucks last night. Still, it took a heroic 23 point effort by Ramon Sessions and a fourth quarter jolt by Bradley Beal. All of this on top of Giannis having foul trouble in the second half, and eventually fouling out. He carried the Bucks with the passion the whole night, and they fell apart when he couldn't play. I see the Knicks in a position to bounce back and gain confidence against a playoff team. The Offense has looked good so far, and Carmelo has not shot well yet. If the Offense can flow in the way that it has and Carmelo finds even a % of his normal offensive self, they have a shot. I think they will win straight-up, but am rolling with the points because it's too many to pass up in what will likely be a close game. Will also be playing, but don't have the time to do write-ups: Utah Jazz +3.5 1U New Orleans Pelicans +5 1U Portland Trailblazer -3 1U BOL |
