Hey fellas,
Long time follower, new poster. By no means am I a pro or even claim to be, but I have had a semi-decent year focusing on smaller schools. More of a hobby at this point, but I try not to half ass anything. Trail my picks at your own risk, but I'd figure that I would at least try my hand here and I welcome any feedback. YTD: 0-0 Thursday: Northern Illinois -31 (.6 unit) This is more of a fade of IMO the worst team in CFB. On their 4th QB Ball State just doesn't stand a chance as their offense is essentially half the field reads at this point. NIU uses this game to "get right" after their loss to Toledo. Friday: Temple -3 (.5 unit) After a rough start to the season Temple has found a spark with Nutile at QB, Cincy just hasn't looked good and I'll take Temple to cover Washington -6 (.3 unit) Washington's defense has been outstanding all year and even if Standford hits a big play I look for the Huskies to grind down the trees for a 7+ point win Saturday: West Virgina +3.5 (.5 unit) Kansas State may be down a QB or two and their pass defense has been trouble the last couple of weeks. Grier gets back on track and WVU wins straight up, regardless I'll take the FG SMU +4.5 (.5 unit) It seems that all of Navy's games have been close, SMU has looked better the last three weeks and without the dropped 4th down pass they gave UCF all they could handle. With Abey a ? I'll take SMU with the points FAU -6 (.4 unit) Have to give Kiffin credit, after a slow start he's really turned it on come conference play. La Tech underwhelmed vs UNT last week and I think Kiffin will exploit them to a TD+ win Southern Miss -10.5 (.7 units) Rice is giving Ball State a run for its money on the worst team in CFB title. Southern Miss should take care of business here with a solid +14 pt win North Texas -22.5 (.3 unit) Don't love the number here, but I love the UNT offense. Way too much firepower for an overmatched UTEP squad. Should be tight to the number but UNT pulls it out Arkansas State -11.5 (1.5 units) Ark State has been money all year thanks to QB Hansen and company. Their secondary is underrated and USA should have trouble throwing the ball in the red-zone. Big bet here for me, but coming off a bye I expect Hasen to come out firing. Marshall -13 (.3 units) Sounds like WKU QB White is day-to-day. I leaned Marshall before given WKU's weak wins, but after seeing the news via Rotoworld I decided to take the plunge with a small bet on Marshall UAB +8 (.5 units) UAB has really turned it on recently while USTA has regressed to more of what was expected of them since their hot start. Nothing huge here, but I wouldn't be surprised if UAB won SU, I'll take the points in the meantime. FIU -9 (.5 units) Old Dominion just hasn't been a good team all year, FIU at home should do enough to cover this 2 score spread. Look for them continue their march towards a conference title. Other leans: Nevada Tulane Arizona Let's get some $$, BOL to all. Feel free to shoot me some feedback, it's always appreciate as I dive deeper into the betting world. Some may question my interest in the smaller school games and I completely understand, I just feel that there is too much public knowledge on the power 5 school games to gain much of an edge, I try my best to exploit the small school games to gain as much of an edge as Vegas will allow, for better or worse. Good luck to all
