How would you like to be a 18 year old kid joining up here for the first time and see a guy with 15K views dropping $25 grand on some random team, and then after the play loses, you find out that he was really just chasing 4 consecutive losses and betting with fake money?
Meanwhile you just lost your first Deposit + your Bonus and never even got a chance to roll it over..

Help him how? I tried to tell him to quit making aliases and act normal and he keeps reporting me to the Mods.
i dont know how. you all find very innovative ways to make him look bad. lol..*cough* value for rent.. think of something? or wait.. its easier to make fun of him. Awsome community here.. but if i must repeat myself... you can help by 1. not beating him down when he loses. Be it by js leaving him alone or trying to encourage the guy. why waste your time e-thugin?
With all that said.. Sammy.. my advice to you would be to ease up a little on your uhmm enthusiasm? you come off too strong for one thing, but most importantly... do one of two things. either admit what your "really" all about or create a new account. as of now.. sorry to say, your a joke. and thats for good reason.. your write-ups/ amounts are outlandish. i mean come on.. either way.. gl to you in the future sammy

Very Strong Point Crow.
With all the colors and the stoney titles he names his threads - it's quite persuasive to kids, or newcomers in general because it's flashy and appealing.
While I respect Sammy's opinion - I think his ego gets the best of him at times (otherwise he wouldn't have ended up chasing these losses). I tried to PM him telling him to give it a rest for the end of the season. A 25k wager on ANY game at this point of the season is plain absurd. I feel for ya Sammy if you lost that much coin - but let it be a lesson you can learn on in the future.
Honestly - when I found out his play was the same as mine today it had me thinking on whether I should fade it or not. Knowing that he has lost 4 in a row... I'm like hey - this streak gotta end tonight - so I tossed another bill onto the Thunder +2.
What I'm getting at is I made the same mistake many of you have probably made.... follow Sammy. I always come up with my own plays - his input did have a definite IMPACT on how much to wager on this game.
Last week I was looking at this game as a for-sure Portland win... but when I found out Roy wasn't playing, and then OKC took an awful loss in Golden St - It gave me reason to play the other side.
Let this be a WARNING for ANYBODY on Covers;
BE A LEADER, NOT A FOLLOWER

With all due respect, although I can appreciate your point, I think that's a little bit of an oversimplification. Moreover, how many lessons in life have been learned the 'easy' way? The crux of it is, if you are an 18 year old wet-behind-the-ears capper-wannabe extra-ordinaire who will blindly follow someone on an internet site, without any sort of due dilligence whatsoever (even at that age - which is considered to be, in pretty much most jurisdictions - adulthood) in terms of placing a bet using your (or your parents) hard earned cash, then one could easily say you deserve to lose/have lost it.
I think this speaks volumes to today's lack of acceptance of personal responsibility for your OWN decisions and mistakes, whether you are 18 or 80 (and yes, I will be the first to admit I did some pretty dumb-ass things when I was young - last week, ok I kid, not that young lol but I sure as hell learned from them and *usually* didn't repeat them).
Again, no one if forcing anyone to do anything on this or any other site. But greed, impatience, hubris, over-confidence, ignorance, or just plain pure stupidity will always be the downfall of someone. And it's soooo much easier to blame someone else, society, your parents, the internet, or magical evil pixies.

Even better point Quasi.
I feel like we are touching on some very important social issues here.

i have to admit, i almost paid a tout when i first join Covers, lucky enough i ask a friend for advise if i should use a tout. he quickly warned me not to do it. sports betting can be a huge addiction. i was completely into it and left my gf, friends,etc... just to be at home in front of the laptop and watch sports on the tv. i learn from my mistakes.
Crowkiller has his points, hes just putting his swag on things,

But then again - where would we be if they didn't put warning labels on cigarettes so kids won't buy them.
Oh wait, nevermind, we already found out that doesn't work
Caveat Emptor - Let the Buyer Beware
lol and how about that whole preaching 'abstinence' thing... hmmm, sure worked out great, no? COMPLETELY got rid of all those unwanted pregnancies n such, no? ;)

I agree - it's incredible how much time/effort goes into either inputting data/analyzing data, researching trends, reading up on match-ups, scanning the web for any sort of source information or any other activity which you feel will give you that extra 'edge'. It's almost scary how 4 or 5 hours can go by in basically a blink.
I think your comment harkens back to NoParlays thoughts the other night, in how he also mentioned how much of your life is taken away/spent by these activities (and hence his desire to either call it quits or take a long break). It truly makes you think and provides a new perspective on what being a regular gambling participant can do to you, particularly in terms of putting everything else on the backburner, even those closest to you.
Glad that you seem to have your priorities straight after some difficult times and best wishes going forward. I think it would be a great idea to take these types of comments/points and catalogued on a piece of paper and subsequently posted directly beside/on top of your computer/forehead lol (or other area where you spend your 'gambling' time)

Good Morning everybody, but I can't lie it isn't a good morning for yours truly. I have been up all night as you could probably imagine, after that horrible defeat last night, I was very pleased at the half, OKC up by 8, then it turned into a disaster, I made an analysis on the Trailblazers, but it actually turned out to be an assessment on the Thunder, I said the Thunder would have a great first quarter, they did, and I said Portland would to put a good showing in the first half, they didn't being down by 8 points, and then I said they would falter, well the Thunder was the one that faltered, getting outscored in both the 3rd. and 4th. quarters, in the end I did loss 25k, and lost over 65% of my bankroll. I still have a average amount to keep betting, that isn't the issue, hell when I came here in August my bankroll wasn't this big, the point is I can build it back to where it was and more, with smart moves and savvy plays, but I need better money management, I agree 100%. I can attest to that, even though it had been working up till this week, after all I won a bundle in the NFL, and the Super Bowl, I made a tremendous amount, nevertheless, I can go back to my 500 to 1000 dollar games, no big deal, I will learn from this game and this night. I must admit it did sadden me and my heart to see so many of you, so happy and in high spirits and making jokes that the fact I lost so much money, I am not a mean spirited human being, but I am not mad at the ones that hate or bash me, I am not built like that, I am built to last. And for those that have always stood by me win or lose, I thank you, and lets be clear, I have won a lot of games on here and most likely helped out some of you as well, if you care not to accept the fact that I bet this game big or any other thats your deal not mine, I know how many units I was up since January, I am Matt, or Sammy, plain and pure. I will be back later after work with my play for this evening, I never take a day off, even when I lose my shirt, pants and hat, that is what an amazing capper is all about.
