Let me borrow a line from a movie "Were you not entertained?". What a game at Sunrise. Oh, Rustie, I gave you a but today you get a I mean, I don't care if it was back 2 back, you had a 4 goal lead and lost. And yes, I disagree with our old friend Mr. Lipps, home ice made a difference in this case. Florida could not have done that in Toronto. Did you see the stat on Florida? That was their 5th time this year that they were down by 3+ goals and have come back and won. New NHL record. While I think the Leafs have improved, me, like others are still, you have to prove it and last night didn't.
The Flower was de-petaled in Nashville last night. Nashville just OWNS the Wild. PERIOD. Remember that in the future. On a personal level, I am on a little struggle bus. One for my last seven. Freaking Rangers had 1:34 seconds of an empty net to score and cover my tt and could not, did not press the issue. Jarry, didn't like you last year in the big games and I don't care what your regular season looks like, it is what you do come crunch time. Allowed 5 goals on 31 shots. PATHETIC. Uh, Boston and Carolina decided not to show up. It is that time of year where teams, secure in the playoffs, WILL take a night off. Seen it too many times. That is why Weebs is playing the dog's tt's right now (I believe).
So who, if any, lays the egg tonight? Any candidates? Calgary? St. Louis? Vegas and Winnipeg will be concentrating to obtain 2 points as neither can afford not to at this point. Wings win a big win at home, gets on a plane and visits Jets. Jets with 2 consecutive losses and another will assure them out of the playoffs at this point (basically, but I think they are out anyway). Blues on the other hand, 3 points back from the Wild. They still have to play Minnesota twice, Colorado once, Vegas once and Boston TWICE. Can't really afford to lose 2 points to the Sea Monsters. Currently, Vegas on the outside and looking in. They are a point back from Dallas in the Wild Card spot but the problem is Dallas has 2 games in hand on them. The concentration should be catching the Kings. Four points back and a game in hand. Nucks losers of 4 of their last 5 and would love to play spoiler. Vegas is 2-0 vs Nucks, including a 7-4 win at home early this season. Caps like to get up for these types of games but did you hear Cooper after the loss to Toronto the other night? "Way to easy to play against, it was probably like a light practice for them". My question is are we expecting too much from the Bolts? The amount of games they have played, losing the 3rd and 4th lines. Both games this year have been won by the Bolts and both have gone under.
I might take a betting break (I say that but doubt it)

Not worried about wild. This was bound to happen. Wild will be just fine, tonight I’m thinking Detroit/Vancouver m, what are your thoughts on tampa bay/Washington? After what you said caps may be the pick. Tough games tonight!! Also thinking one of faves in St. Louis/Calgary go down. Thinking of going all dogs! What do you think? My thoughts it’s St. Louis-Calgary is back in track. Don’t take break from betting!!! I don’t-it’s year round. otherwise why bother watching sports.

St. Louis has been riding Husso 6 straight games in 10 days after Jordie shat the bed in a 5-2 home loss to the Flyers. They went 4-1-1 in those 6, and Husso gave up 10 goals in the b2b over the weekend in a L-W @ EDM-@CGY. Coyotes showed up on Monday and the Blues dispatched 'em 5-1. Now SEA drops by off their nice Sunday night home W vs DAL; let's hope they're flat tonight in their b2b Midwest roadie. Grubauer's doing as well as can be expected and both teams are healthy. Blues are 2-0 (home and away) vs Sea Monsters, and they have those 36 RWs which could be very important come Spring seeding.

Like det/wpg over if griess gets the nod. Just need helle to let in 2-3. Plus Detroit on b2b so Jets should fly around. That's why you worry about Detroit only getting 1 or 2. Think both teams allowed over 200 on the season

Well I can't say that I was any more shocked than the rest of you, when my Leafs' collapsed, we've seen that show too many times before.
Leaf's goaltending continues to be a problem(that should have been addressed)
Leaf's still have 1 more game against Bolts, Cats and the Bears but it's not those games that I will worry about right now, it's the Sabres', Sen's and Flyers games .
Toronto seems to have very bad habit of taking a night off against lesser teams, with apologies to any and all of those teams fans(both of you lol) and you just can't do that at this time of year, but time will tell .
Liking the Jets' chances tonight along with the over in Anaheim

Throwing out these numbers (although, recently the numbers are not working)
Detroit has played 8 b2b games this year. They are 1-7 with their only win was November 7th in Vegas. In their 7 losses, they have given up 42 goals (6 GA per game, but one of those was the 11 Pens put up) while they have only scored 18 goals in those 7 losses.
Stat number 2
In Detroit's last 11 road games, they have lost by PL in 9 of the 11 games.

Driedger after his 2 weeks on the bench has gone 2-1 and has given up 4 goals in 3 games (1 @ Vegas, 2 vs Kings and 1 vs Dallas) with a save percent of .957Personally would have rather seen Grubauer.

Hey Doc,
Me, too..for sure. Driedger concerns me (scares, gives me pause...pick the action word lol). Not being sarcastic...when I wrote the post it was Grubauer expected, which also made sense because Driedger's started 3 of 4 and got 2 wins only giving up 1 goal each time. Recency bias bit me a couple days ago when I took the Flyers at home vs the Jackets after Philly beating NYR in MSG. So that big win Sea Monsters got Sunday night concerned me, but not with Grubauer in net. Now...ugggghhh.

CGY has too much to play for (#2 in the West) to diddle with the Ducks. Feel bad for Ryan Getzlaf that he can't skate and help his guys, but he's most definitely a hometown hero if there ever was one!!!
EDM skated past the Ducks on Sunday, and then almost forgot to wake up in San Jose last night. So CGY got past the Kings on Monday and now have the Ducks in Disneyland. Will they get a contact high and forget how to skate? Can't see it. Flames get 'er done.

That might happen. Kraken aren’t particularly good. But all it takes is an off night by a team that’s played very well of late. Good luck man, I’m likely staying away from it.

Canucks @ VGK: Knights just beat VAN Sunday in OT on some very lazy play by the Canucks D. Easy breakout and odd man rush and who do you see in the highlight reel? Not the guys down ice watching the game end lol. I only bring this us because I didn't know the story line of an otherwise tight game in which VAN did a lot of hitting.
Speaking of dogs barking or biting, VGK at home seems the easy pick. The opening line was -144 (give or take) which seems mighty short for a team fighting for a WC spot in the West, and winners of 5 straight. Currently #9 on the outside looking in, and NSH (#7) and DAL (#8) both having 2 games in hand. The line's been around -170 all day, yes, but just getting a waft of yesterday's buffet in the dumpster. Probably just me, but I'm willing to ante up the -185 for the ML.

Caps fresh off the famous player’s only meetings, guaranteed to play very well tonight! https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2022/04/05/uh-oh-the-capitals-had-a-players-only-meeting/
Caps with players meeting and Bolts being called soft with Maroon pissed. Should be a good one to watch.
