Crazy sh*t from 2025: The Las Vegas Raiders go into New England and win on opening day. The Raiders would go on to lose 14 of their next 16 games while New England would win 14 of their next 16 games. I'm guessing more than a few people got knocked out of their survivor pools on this game as well.

Reviewing how Away Dogs have done ATS in Week 1, the last two seasons have been losers: 2024 6-7-0 2025 4-5-0 Overall Away Dogs ATS from 2014-2025: 67-50-3 (57.3%) average margin = 2.0 average line = +4.64 Good luck everybody.
That should have been "Overall Week 1 Away Dogs ATS from 2014-2025:"

I posted this on another thread, but since 2016 Week One road dogs of 7.5 points or more are 10-4 ATS. The Ravens had two of those covers as a home favorite, and a third came in the 2020 COVID season. Currently there are two games that qualify this season. I don't know that I'll play either one but I sure won't be taking the Chargers and Jags in a suicide pool, and probably not the Lions either.

@Sickness Since they went to 3 pre-season games, a lot has changed. The first couple of weeks are noise, and I sit back and update my power ratings. I don't start to bet till after week 3, at the earliest.
Smart brother
I guess i just throw caution to the wind. i see 3 plays i like week 1, no way i dont put 1 unit on 1 of them

That's probably a good bet. Detroit's secondary is vulnerable with both pro bowl safties out for the foreseeable future, and you KNOW they can score boatloads of points.
