This is my first post here so probably fade me right? Lol. I don't make a lot of money in NFL, mostly plus money soccer and tennis, but that's another post. here's my analysis of the game tonight.
Why the Pats should cover- No balance on Jets offense. Completely void of a running game, the Jets will rely on Smith to carry them. Smith is similar to Manuel in many ways, and the Patriots have the advantage of playing almost the same QB two weeks in a row, but Smith doesn't have the running game or a big play (loose term) wide receiver to help. Also this will be Smith's first game away against a hated rival, which will be daunting. Belichick is 4-0 against rookie Qb's at home, with an average win margin of 23.5. Also if you watched last weeks game against the Bucs, the game mismanagement by the bucs coaching staff in the last quarter and the late hit that gave the jets the game winning field goal attempt allowed the Jets to stay alive, when they were ready to die.
Why Jets should cover- Because DD spreads are too hard to cover in the NFL, for any team, no matter the pedigree. The NFL covets the ability to keep parody, so no team is a steady DD dog. The patriots will have a hard time finding consistency on offense, due to the lack of play makers, and the lack of ability to convert short yardage downs and red zone opportunities. Brady will have a decent game, but stringing together meaningful touchdown opportunities will be tough, which means field goals, and field goals keep the Jets close enough.
I expect the lack of big play guys on the offense for both teams to make this a coaching duel and field management game, which benefits the pats in the end, but not enough to cover. Final Score 24-13 Pats.
I will be betting the Under tonight at 43, and i think it will rise to 43.5 or 44 by game time. I also will be taking the Jets +12 or more in a parlay with the Oregon over and the Bengals -7 on monday night. Thanks for the read and good luck to all.
