I think favorites are done playing cute

Week 7 Favorites are 12-3 SU and 10-5 ATS. We are approaching midway through the season and division standings are getting serious, trash teams are weeded out some teams are showing signs to be potential dark horses for the season. 

2 of the SU favorite losses were spreads at -1.5 (Chargers and Commanders) which I believed were capped wrongly last Sunday.

t minus 24 hr of week 8 sunday slate, I think the favorites are done playing cute and mean business this time. Dogs of MNF and TNF were blown out and neutered like puppies. 

Look at the Ravens, a 1-5 team that is favored by 6.5 points to win against the raging bears who has won 4 straight. Bills a -7 favorites on the road vs a surging Bryce Young's Panthers. Eagles -7.5 vs the Giants who humiliated them and went toe to toe vs the Broncos. Texans too at -1.5 where they look pathetic last MNF primetime game. I see all these favorites covering their spreads. 

For me the only notable dog that can win straight up for this Sunday's slate is the Steelers, Pitsburgh coming off a loss and the way the Packers played the Cardinals were just kind of mid IMO. Steelers need this win to redeem that game vs the Bengals. I can see the Saints covering at home too and maybe give Mayfield a scare and clamp down CMC.

Young isn't playing

Just doing durrr... It's gonna be favorites today is a stupid way to cap. Some weeks are like that some aren't you can only know in hindsight. I do feel like dogs cover more early in the season. But the time to really focus on betting the best teams is often the last month of the season when they're locking up divisions and seeds while the bad teams are usually ones that are injured and have nothing to play for but pride.

 So you are saying you bet dogs early of the season just because best teams aren't locking up? I dont see your point but let me expand mine, since weeks 1-6 which is 33% of the season the dogs are covering and winning straight up by more than 65% of every Sunday slate. At week 7, this dropped to 20% and favorites won 80% of the games. Now we are at week 8 and 66% of the season remains, the trend is that Favorites are covering and winning straight up 75% of the time. Prime teams last season like (Ravens, Bills, Eagles) are capped weirdly this sunday with large spreads making you lean to the underdogs if you consider their stats and streaks. If I understand your point correctly, isnt it right now the best time to lean the favorites to win and think of it as their time to get serious rather than putting it in a way that they just win because of some sort of day? 

It seems that the books want you to take the Giants, Bears and Panthers. Their stats and streaks will tell you that they can cover but against the match up and trend says otherwise. 

But what do I know maybe you are right and "it was just one of those weeks" that they decided to win.
