It just isn't going to go away until guns in the hands of the public are extinct. 

A lot of people dont like the 2nd Amendment (the right to bear arms) or even the 1st Amendment (the right to free speech).  But these rights are given to us by our creator and the US government is prohibited from interfering with these rights.  Criminals will always have guns or knives or a car to hurt someone because they dont care about laws.  So really people like yourself only seek to punish law abiding citizens and make law abiding citizens defenseless to be subjugated by a criminal element.  Making drugs or even alcohol illegal made drugs and alcohol disappear?  Nope.  So its a failed argument on its face that making guns illegal will solve gun crimes.  And if youre not an American, you should focus on the problems in your own countries rather than seek to cure the ills of America.  Lastly, if you want crime to be lowered, you need to accept that Rehabilitative justice is a failure.  10% of the population commits 90% of the crime.  Bring back the public stockade with name and shame in the town square; brand felons with a F on their thumb so society knows who they are and we need public hangings.  Culling the criminal population will do more to bring down crime than making law abiding citizens defenseless.

Dude had mental issues from concussions . We just had a case in Idaho where a guy is facing life in solitary confinement for murdering four college students at the U of Idaho. He did it with a knife.
