i know ive said this the last 3 years but i feel like a Wildcard team is long overdue to win the Super Bowl, its been too long going on 6 years? used to be kind of regularly in the 2000's.
at some point in time these" in the hunt " teams outside of Chiefs, Rams and Saints will have good value after this week or next couple weeks. Saints are the only team out of top 3 is worthy of winning it all but no value now like it was in Septmember. Patriots, Bears, Pamthers, Chargers, Steelers, Seahawks and Ravens.
that being said i like the Ravens at +5000 to win AFC, and +12500 to win Super Bowl but if Lamar Jackson takes over now i think it will be tough to win it all unless the Ravens and Lamar play like a throwback Redskins team with Doug Williams. i think picking them to win AFC is a better value bet.
Patriots may be a good value bet now they have to be close to +1000 to win SB after today. Brees and Brady nearing the end of their careers. Chargers only because maybe Phillip Rivers is due for appearance?

kinda regret not putting some down on Chargers to win AFC or SB53. had some decent odds almost a month ago. now +850 to win SB...
Glad to get some in on Ravens 50/1 to win AFC and 125/1 to win SB along with my various raven futures at different odds.. no way i see Lamar winning the SB in his 1st year i would be utterly shocked if that happened but i have it just in case lightning strikes... i think they still have a punchers chance to win AFC. the value is now at 30/1, hasnt really dropped off much despite 3 straight wins but i think its still worth a shot.
i dont think their will be much of playoff upset in the NFC its either going to be Rams or Saints but in the AFC i think its wide open and i believe a wildcard team is gonna get to a super bowl. maybe this finally could be the year that a 4th, 5th or 6th seed gets in the super bowl. been saying and hoping for past 3 years..

DK: this year is wide open. There is not one team in this league that is complete.
Bears: Can trubisky do it?
Chiefs: can Reid be balanced in the playoffs and can the defense get enough stops
Chargers: can the secondary hold up?
Patriots: can the defense get stops?
Steelers: can they stay disciplined and can the coaching staff stay out of their own way
Rams: can Goff take the next step?
Saints: will they get production from someone other than Thomas and Kamara when it matters most? Secondary?
Ravens: can they get big plays out of Jackson?
Cowboys: very similar to the Bears here: can Dak do it?
Seattle: can they get production out of their wideouts?
Houston: can their running game do enough against good teams?
My guess is that we get a few big upsets in the playoffs. My dream super bowl would be my Bears vs my Steelers but I don’t think that happens. After that, how great would it be to see Rivers go against Brees in the big one? All the best amigo DK.

thank you achilles. i agree the field is wide open. as long as we dont see Brady in the SB and we get two teams that we havent seen there in awhile in the last 5+ years, or two QBs that havent been to the Super Bowl before then its gonna be a good one. Bears vs Ravens would be an intriguing defensive matchup but im sure that wont be a popular pick among fans as the league will want another high scoring offense to pair with a top scoring defense. honestly, i think the team that gets hot in December will go a long way

NMFW Chiefs get there or havent you learned that NO ROOKIE QB ever got his team there
yes mahoomes is in 2nd year BUT didnt play at all last year except final dumping game week 17
BOOKIT Cheifs loose in playoffs ooyeah and 31st ranked defense aint winning no where
LMAO couldnt stop chargers final 2 mins of game and Chargers put an ! on it with 2 point conversion
NO teams with a tied game ever won super bowl
Supposed to be Playoff bound teams Vikings Packers Steelers
NO team losing to TB for real EVER won a sb Saints eagles Browns 49ers and recent losers Panthers
no teams who played in London ever won a super bowl except the NY GIants 10-6 wild card final game at home won all 3 playoff roads
6 teams that played in London this year eagles jaguars seattle Chargers Raiders and Titans
Saints lost to Bucs AND won the Super Bowl. How many times do you need to be told this before it sinks in?
One team tied a game in the OT era and still won the Super Bowl, Steelers. How many times do you need to be told this before it sinks in?
At least you admit now that ONE team has played in London AND won the Super Bowl. I fail to see how their WC status was something to negate the London factor.
But congrats on picking Rams v. Pats (hey, at least you are putting it out there), they are two of the top 3 favorites to win (by odds). Could definitely happen, way to step out on a limb though. ; )
Yes, Mahomes didn't play much last year, but he was with the team the ENTIRE season giving him a HUGE edge over any true rookie starter. Still difficult to exclude them strictly on that. If KC doesn't advance far (or at all), it will likely not be on Mahomes. I do love how you say "NO ROOKIE QB" then the next line state that he's not a rookie. Great analysis.
Sorry for sidetracking the thread, good luck on your plays DK.

see, just because you say this won't happen because of this and this and that, doesn't mean it won't happen. all those things you mentioned at least one team has broken that myth.
did anyone ever thought for a sec the Chargers would come back from 16 pt and beat the Steelers where the Steelers are like 215-0-2 at home when leading by 2 TDs or more at halftime? or when #1 seed Virginia became the first #1 seed to lose to #16 seed in March Madness where the record was a ridiculous 0-135?

Or maybe in a few more years: Garoppolo vs Brady . SB54 would be appropriate. Pats vs 49ers Will be most watched SB in history. In 2020. Miami, the site of Joe Montana's last SB win and appearance.. Tom Brady's last SB appearance as well makes 1 last run after getting knocked off the playoffs the previous year and somewhat injury plagued season. The twist? The disciple wins and a new legend is born and an old legend retires with 5 rings. 5-4 record in the SB unless the Eagles can hold their own but i say Brady doesnt win another. The football gods dont want to flatter Brady and to best Montana again with 6 rings it would be flat out obnoxious and greedy
for a time, earlier in the season, when both teams were still undefeated.. i did thought about and worried about this..
