I hope you're right. Our secondary has been an issue for what seems like 20+ years. It's the biggest question mark again. Then their is our o-line. There's tons of value here though. Normally in Cowboys' games, you're paying extra juice just for the Cowboys name but going against Brady coming off a SB, it's the Buccs backers who are paying extra for a name. I kinda have an early lean on an under in this one.

+240 Brady will be 44 and he'll be coming off mcl surgery. So there are 2 reasons he may play poorly. Mccarthy also has all offseason to plan for the same buccs roster/no changes. If the guy is worth anything the team will be ready. Worth a shot. Gl
Geez Lets see..Dak Prescott coming off a broken leg and has not played a game in ages and you using Brady's off-season touch up surgery as an angle?

Lifelong Cowboys fan here who regularly fades this team. Dallas is a public favorite that really hasn’t proven anything. Do they have potential? Yes.
But what have they done? They had a NEED to improve on the secondary and they didn’t do that. They were going after CB Jaycee Horn who fell to the Panthers at #8 and then Patrick Surtain Jr went to the Broncos at #9. This was devastating for Dallas who still got maybe the best defensive player in the draft in Micah Parson but they did not address the glaring need in their secondary. This has been the Achilles heel for Dallas every single year dating back to the Tony Romo era when Roy Williams was hit sticking RBs but couldn’t cover a single receiver deep. The Cowboys always spend $$ on offensive firepower but do nothing on the defensive side of the ball.
Dak is also coming off injury and the Dline is inexperienced and hurting. Sense is Lawrence had back surgery in the off season and Tyron Crawford also retired. These are huge blows to an already shaky defense going up against the defending champs. I would fade this….

@davemsh Uuhh...do i have to say it.. Cause Dak has had forever to get healthy and recover, right? Unlike brady?
it’s not just any injury.. he is a mobile QB.. it takes time to get back to normal game speed.. how will he react in a live game when guys are going to tackle his legs. Can he plant off that leg like before. Will he be timid running or escaping the pocket.
or better yet can he beat a good team? His record vs good teams is atrocious. Hence stat padder.. only puts up big numbers when down big and trying to make a comeback when the pressure is off. I say same ole Dak. May be worse since he got paid

risky.. defending champs at home usually money on opening kickoff.. maybe this could be the exception where Dallas covers but Bucs win.
dont think brady coming off surgery will be a factor, not that mobile anyway. key will be bucs pass game vs cowboy secondary. Dan Quinn could also be key, he is familiar with that division and could make this defense better than Nolan did but who knows what'll happen in week 1. probably might not touch this game. gl bud, the points seem safer here

SB champ will not lose on opening day. That's what they said last year; Brady is slow old and blah blah blah. It's the Bucs or no play boy. Keep playing against Brady and see what happens.

@StumpTownStu That secondary is why i am banking on a bad brady. 44 year old qb coming off surgery. There is not a single qb ever who had a successful season at 44. I guess if this guy brady is going to come out smoking, he'll prove me wrong. At 44. Gronk is slowing down, almost finished. Suh is old, just hanging on. Pierre paul getting up there. Bet medium small on the ml to win medium. 25% of nba bux title win. Nothing drastic but a great way to kick off the season. Concerns me which dak is gonna show up, but dak is fairly consistent. Should be fun
At some point Brady has to fall off a cliff but I'm not sure it happens this season even at age 44.. The Bucs roster is as good as anyone's so I would take the points myself especially with the Bucs at Home but Good Luck

Defending super bowl champs are 22-5 SU & 14-10-3 ATS on opening day s/'94 including 17-3 SU & 13-4-3 ATS over the past 20 seasons.
If the DSBC had a non-winning record two years ago they are 6-0 SU & 4-1-1 ATS s/'94.
If the DSBC lost SU in week one last season they are 6-1 SU & 4-1-2 ATS in week one this season s/'94.
If the DSBC has a regular season home winning streak of 5-0 or less, they are 12-2 SU & 9-3-2 ATS in week one s/'94.
I'm sure Dak Prescott coming back from a devastating lower body injury traveling to the exact field the Bucs won the super bowl last year will offset all those facts...NOT!

Daks not even throwing in practice right now. 22 returning starters you think that's an advantage for the other guys? Brady all of 6 months older for game 1 than he was for SB. Fournette and Jones formidable RB tandem. Defense jelled late, not the same defense they were earlier in the season. Brady and company a full preseason this year to prepare. Even at night in September here, it's warm and humid. Stamina will be tested for Dallas. Should be more like +400 than +240.
