Surprisingly, this will be the 4th and final meeting between these 2 squads this year.
Both rosters have changed since those previous encounters. Rondo is back(though his status on a B2B is uncertain due to his recovery) and Jordan Crawford and Courtney Lee are now gone. Crawford was a huge factor in their last 2 matchups, scoring 43 points total, while playing 35+ minutes average. He had his highest scoring game of the year against the Bucks(25). Bayless and Phil Pressey simply do not have the same slashing and scoring ability as Lee and, especially, Crawford.
The Celtics simply do not have a dynamic scorer left on their roster who can frighten opponents.
The Bucks have had multiple injuries, with Caron Butler, Udoh and Delfino out and O.J. Mayo, Ridnour, and Larry Sanders uncertain for tonight. Many of these aforementioned players logged heavy minutes in the first 3 matchups. They also lack a dynamic scoring threat with all the injuries. Neal, Knight and Wolters don't cut it.
The Bucks have had some inflated scoring recently due to playing faster paced teams who play lackluster D(Hou, NYK, Den, Phx, LAC, Orl, Atl).
I am not seeing how scoring occurs at a consistent clip tonight, as both coaches emphasize slower pace and more of a half-court style of play. Both teams are bottom 10 in pace, TS%, eFG% and offensive efficiency. The Celtics play decent D overall and should matchup accordingly with the Bucks MASH unit.
This game is a pickem and rightfully so. If it's indeed close, it shouldn't be a high scoring game, imo. The 4th matchup gives some measure of familiarity.
Under 191 is my play. Good luck with whatever you decide.
