I'm gonna tail ya
Good luck buddy. Go Blazers!
good luck.
but based on your write up, you didn't watch the portand/bobcats game. It wasn't portlands D that held the bobcats to 69 points. It was the bobcats unforced turnovers & bad shooting that screwed them.
Look at the boxscore & you will see the bobcats badly outrebounded the blazers. Why? because the bobcats put more effort into it. The only reason portand won at all is because the bobcats offense is high school without wallace & jackson.
so basically you are backing a team that is lazy on the boards, never fast breaks, & just got off a cross country flight. Nobody in this forum is calculating the 4PM PST their bodies are still tuned into.
Nobody is also looking into what kind of offense the magic will run without howard. I expect the magic to push for an uptempo game, try to get baskets in transition, & get their open 3 bombs with kickouts off drives to the basket in lieu of howard kicking it out. If this gameplan is successful, Blazers are gonna have a tough day, because their offense blows.
Yes Portland looks better on paper here. But they play like garbage on the road. So i really have no clue why anyone would back this crap team coming off a 3000 mile plane ride.
again, good luck. as i will not bet this game, hope you cash it.
good luck.

No I did not watch the Bobcats/Blazers game. I read the recaps and players' comments that they were more focused on the defensive end, after McMillan chewed them out after that Houston loss. As far, as Portland 'just' coming off the cross-country flight, they actually flew in yesterday morning. The 4PM PST time is a valid point but I'm not too concerned against this Magic short-handed squad.
In terms of Orlando's gameplan, I actually did think about it but I guess I failed to put that in. I don't believe they will be able to get into the 'transition' game. In order to do so, you have to have one of thes 2 (if not both): great TO causing D and/or solid rebounding that allows the guards to get out down the court after a shot. Orlando is only average in causing TO's on defense, ranking #14. Portland actually doesn't turn the ball over much, ranked #5 in TOV% on offense. So I don't see Magic getting many TO's tonight. The 2nd aspect won't apply today because without Dwight Howard, ALL of Orlando's playes must stay back and crash the boards in order to secure the ball. You gotta keep in mind that Portland is the 4th best offensive rebounding team from the standpoint of ORB%. Since Orlando does NOT have the size advantage without Howard, they must try to create an advantage by having all 5 of their players rebound on defense.
These 2 factors will not allow them to get into the transition game tonight. IN addition, you said that Orlando will drive to the hoop and kick out for 'open' perimeter shots. I disagree. There is not need for Portland's defenders to leave their 'perimter' responsibilities. With Aldridge and Campy down low, Nelson can drive to the hoop all day, but he won't be successful. Batum and Wallace are excellent defenders, and Miller will wear Nelson out with his size and strenght advantage. I don't see many 'open' shots for the Magic in this one.
When you say Portland plays like 'garbage' on the road, you're wrong again. Blazers are 5-0 their last 5 road games. Sure their competition in those games has been pretty soft, but so is this Howard-less Magic squad tonight. I would not be backing Portland tonight if Howard was playing, but he's such a HUGE factor for Orlando, that without him to be this is a very solid play.
Hope this clarifies some of my thoughts on this game. Go BLAZERS!
good luck.

EXCELLENT WRITEUP AS PER THE NORM.
Portland is better lately and especially on the road. No DH tonight and I see some altering of the offence by ORL. Having him in there is great when youre shootin treys due to his beastly rebounding efforts but I see Portlands defense stepping up to shut down 3 ball chances tonight and the Magic struggling in the paint.
GOOOD CALL BOD!

Was leaning Timbo's in that one. Darko is back and not sure how motivated Dallas will be to get a 'blow-out' in this one. GL

bodio-
great stuff.
Only one thing. Do you think those stiffs in Orlando get tired of hearing Dwight this Dwight that?
Do you think they give 110% tonight as the Blazers with a Howard-less squad on deck and the Heat coming up give the NBA norm of 50%?
To me, star angle applies. Time for the little guys to shine. The NBA is not about talent night to night it is about motivation.
On the other side today bro.
