Wainwright (17-10, 2.34) had the NL's second-best ERA at 1.99 on
Aug. 11, but has recorded a 4.88 ERA in losing his last four starts.
"I
don't like losing one game, much less four in a row," the right-hander
said after giving up five runs - two earned - and seven hits in five
innings of a 6-1 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. "I won't lose again."

That's why you dig a little deeper and find the reasons for the lines being so easy...such as Norris having a 5.34 ERA at home this season and an ERA over 12 last time he faced the Dodgers. Couple that with Lilly's 3.55 ERA on the road this season and a career ERA of 2.19 facing the Dodgers, it gets a little easier to see. There are other reasons too but it's late, I'm tired and I'm sure you can find them like I did. And no matter how bad the Cardinals have looked lately, they're still capable of some scoring outbursts against a volatile Braves team That (if I'm not mistaken) has lost all 4 of the games they've played with the Cardinals this season. Add to that Wainwright's career 2.00 ERA vs the Braves and Jurrjens last outing vs St. Louis that netted him a single-game 27.00 ERA and I'd say that's some good reasoning behind why the lines are where they are. Like I said, I could add more reasoning but these games aren't quite as tasty when you peel the caramel back off the apple and find the worms inside.

how tha fuk are the braves dogs at home? and how are astros dogs at home vs dodgers WTF!! all seems to easy
Norris has been blowing monkey chunks lately and Lilly has rocked against Houston.......Lilly shuts down Stros and Dodgers finally score a run (their offense is non-existant)....Score is 1-0 Dodgers in 15 innings

Be careful with LA tonight. Didn't arrive until 6:00am in Houston last night. I agree Lilly is probably the better pitcher here, but he has really struggled in his last couple of starts and especially on the road. These are two teams going in opposite directions. LA is really struggling and Houston has been playing great lately. I'll take Stros at plus money against a tired and unmotivated Dodger team tonight.

Guy is overated.Go out and pitch the damn game.It would help of course if the team behind him didn't quit already .The main thing is the Cards are not good enough or that good. With the exception of Pujols and Holiday not much to be concerned with in that lineup.

When the Braves got swept by the cards in St Louis it was during their 9 game losing streak back in April. Since then they have the best record in the majors. Also the Braves might be in a slump, but compared to the cards they are on a hot streak.
I also wouldn’t read too much into Jurrjens terrible outing against the cards back in April. Everyone that bets the Braves knows (or at least should know) that JJ struggles on the road but is money at home. 6-0 with a 2.15 ERA and the Braves have yet to lose a home game he has started.

That quote sounds like he was really mad after losing and an angry man "shuts his eyes and opens his mouth." He'll be regretting those words when he loses again because every pitcher loses eventually.
